Sprint Nexus S 4G hands-on!

mobile

Sure we’ve had some up close and personal time with the Nexus S 4G before, but now we can finally spend some quality one-on-one time with it as we compose our full review. So far we’re impressed with the speed at which we can zip around Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread), and we still love the contoured glass display. We’ve definitely been spoiled using the Super AMOLED Plus screens on the Samsung DROID Charge and the Samsung Infuse 4G, but our Nexus S 4G unit’s AMOLED display has a noticeable yellow tint that would bother us even if we hadn’t been using Samsung’s newer screens. Some users reported yellow discoloration on the original Nexus S after applying the Gingerbread update, so we’re hoping this could be a software fix or something that’s only limited to our phone. We’ll be working on a review over the next few days, but in the meantime be sure to check out our hands-on photo gallery.

Because LTE works great on the iPhone, let me tell you.

I heard it does when you tether it to an Android phone lol

This nonsensical comment doesn’t make sense.

Just like your average iPhone owner.

What’s the point of buying a 4G phone if you can’t use the 4G without killing the battery? How can reviewers not consider this a major flaw in the device?

    • Anonymous

Well I have an Epic 4G and I use 4G without killing the battery.. It literally takes .5 seconds to toggle 4g on and off its the first button on the notification shade.. And when Im in LA I leave 4G on all day and performance is only marginally worse..

I played with one in the Sprint Store today, very nice responsive. Good pick up if you’re on Sprint.

If the next Nexus has a micro SD slot….I’m on the Nexus train.

Prolly one of the biggest flaws on this device.. I think my Epic 4G is better

sprint needs to work on their CS..and isnt tmo $80 unlimited everything vs sprints aging 3g unlimited $99..even if sprint goes 4G..wimax..their CS is the reason I wont EVER go to them

    • Anonymous

Don’t know what rock you have been under for the last few years but their CS has steadily improved. Do the research

    • Anonymous

On Sprint you get Navigation, TV, and no throttling.. And for most people the Sprint $80 plan is closer to unlimited because your limited to 500 landline w/ Unl landline mins after 7pm and on weekends instead of the 2GB data cap; so your getting Unl. txt, true Unl. data, and Unl. calls to all mobiles

        Best deal in the business…………..

    • Eludium Q36

WTF do you care about customer service anyway ?! You calling them because you’re lonely ?! I’ve been with Sprint since ’98 and haven’t called CS since ’05 ! CS is the last thing to be hatin’ on.

Who in their right mind would put a phone face down on concrete?! Stupid review pix.

I bought one this morning, bye bye Evo

I really like mine Nexus S but I ordered with att 3G bands, Google needs more of pure android phones I have tried Captivate, Atrix, imo those skins make it slower and more pain to use.

The nexus. Is slow. And lags. And can’t do. Half of what the evo does… not impressed at all.
