mobile

Sprint’s latest Android smartphone, the Google Nexus S 4G, is now available across the country from Sprint retailers, Best Buy Mobile locations, and online. Google’s Samsung-built Nexus sequel features a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, front and rear-facing cameras, NFC support and Google’s Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system. The new Sprint version of the device features the exact same specs as the older Nexus S, but with the key addition of support for the carrier’s 4G WiMAX network. The Nexus S 4G is available immediately for $199.99 on contract or for $549.99 free and clear from Sprint — or for $149.99 on contract from Best Buy. Also, be sure to watch for our full review of the Nexus S 4G, which should be ready soon.

Really liking the curvature on this device. I travel, so when I cannot be intimate with my girlfriend, I call her phone and make it vibrate.

Square phones hurt her vag. This nexus could probably fit all the way in though. Any one have any experience with this?

Open minded people need only reply.

Same problem here. The old square models are out… sleek curvature is in.

She must have a large vag if you can put a Nexus S in there

Sprint’s been selling them in store since Friday. Got mine yesterday and I’m in love. It is perfect in every way. And so light. Coming from an ancient Touch Pro2, I feel bad that the rest of the world has been enjoying instantaneous performance since the Nexus One came out. Night & Day.

So far nothing has shown up from Sprint – no Sprint ID, no Sprint Zone, not even the Sprint Hotspot app. //disclaimer: i work for Sprint.

Will Google ever release the Nexus on Verizon? I don’t get it.

not without Verizon putting 20 crap apps on there and marking all over the damn phone… FUK YOU VERZION !!

By the way… any of you who purchased the new device have anything to report on battery life? This is what a lot of folks are waiting on. Specifically while operating under the 4G mode.

Comes with a 1500miliamp, i leave my 4G radio on all day, and it goes at least 6-7 hours without charge..

I used mine for about 6 hours on the out-of-the-box charge without it squaking at me. Pretty heavy user, WiFi and 4G to sync my Google and Exchange accounts and then play with it for quite a while. So far, I’m impressed with battery life. Better than my Transform for sure.

I have been using it relentlessly and so far I am able to get about 8 hours out of the battery. I am using live wallpapers and I don’t always remember to turn off wifi and bluetooth. I could not be happier with the phone and the lack of any bloatware.

Picked one up yesterday and have found it sufficient in nearly every way. Some may bemoan the relatively low-resolution front-facing camera and lack of message indicator light. I find the FF camera very usable for self-shots and video chat. An indicator would have been nice but it’s not a necessity. Turning on 4G takes a bit of navigating into the Wireless menu; would have appreciated a button on the Powerstrip widget. Otherwise, it has been a dream.

My only real disappointment? It isn’t running webOS. :/

I would get this phone hands down if it were on Verizon. It’s rare but I see people are being honest about battery life. A friend told me he gets about 7-8 hours good usage. Not iPhone like but still, with 4G that’s very impressive.

Switched over from an Atrix for this phone and couldn’t be happier.
