Stop. Collaborate and listen… Apple’s online web store is down. Blog 9to5 Mac, is reporting that new, Sandy Bridge quad-core iMacs are due later this morning. Furthermore, the site states that the new all-in-one desktop will come in four standard configurations: 21.5-inch, 2.7 GHz quad-core; 27-inch, 2.7 GHz quad-core; 27-inch, 3.1 GHz quad-core; and 27-inch, 3.4 GHz quad-core. The two 27-inch units will ship with the AMD 6770M graphics card while the two 3+ GHz models will ship with a AMD 6970M card; all units will come standard with 4GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. We should find out later this morning if Apple has anything else up its sleeve.

I thought the 3.3 GHz 27″ $1999 supposed to have 8GB ram! and it suppose to have 1.5 TB! HD? no?

Just built an Ubuntu Desktop (11.04) machine with 8GB RAM, Blu-Ray R/W, i5 2500K (quad 3.3GHz), AMD 6850, 23″ 1080p LCD and 4x2TB Samsung drives in RAID 5 – all for under $900 including the other necessary parts. WHY do people still pay so much for Apple products?

Oh wow.. you will need to refer to ubuntuforums. I’m actually rather new to Linux/Ubuntu. Surprisingly how easy things are (and the amount of help and support online). Did you try proprietary drivers for you laptop’s soundcard?

just go to apple’s site then select Mac on top and it will show all the specs!
