Best Buy quietly offers HTC EVO 3D pre-orders starting today

mobile

According to information acquired by blog Android Central, Best Buy — or at least one Best Buy — has begun taking pre-orders for HTC’s highly anticipated EVO 3D handset. The offer is not being advertised or promoted in any way (present article excluded), but a company memo instructs Best Buy team members to offer the pre-order to those that ask about the dual-core handset. “This is meant to capture only those customers coming into our stores inquiring about the EVO 3D who are otherwise not purchasing another phone today,” reads the memo. ” In other words, if a customer asks, you can tell him or her about the pre-sale. Otherwise, mums the word.” Yes, mum indeed. Hit the jump to see an image of the memo in question.

Is this a no money down pre order? I haven’t heard any prices yet, although I’m pretty sure it will be in the $199 – $249 ballpark. I definitely want to check out this device.

Andrew in all seriousness, its nice to see you write about non-Apple related issues.

      nope, only $50 to preorder

    • Lechero

$50 deposit, they give you a $50 gift card instantly, that you can spend right away or use it towards the phone. really you lose the disposable income but its not really costing you anything.

Hmmm, must go to Best Buy.

Hmmm. Nothing about pricing though, eh? Damn.

Judging by the original EVO’s sales history, EVO3D should be on deck by 6/1. Hmm, I wonder should I take the gamble and buy the NEXUS S on 5/8, test drive it, and then swiftly trade it back in to Best Buy when the EVO 3D arrives and do it all inside of a 30 day window.

I was thinking the same thing. But with my luck the EVO will get delayed.

      • worldbfree4me

Yeah, knowing Sprint, they just may launch it on 7/1 to mitigate Nexus S returns! But it could still work out. The Nexus S is selling for about $260 on the street, so I could still sell it, and help make up the difference for EVO 3D by hawking me EVO One for around $220 should I miss the return window. We shall see:)

Can you buy it without a contract? If so, how much do you think it’ll cost? $450? I don’t get an upgrade till next year, but I think it’ll be worth it buying it this summer.

Looking at a Calendar and considering Instinct,Pre & EVO releases I should have my money ready that weekend of June 3-5th. All this tells me is I have roughly 30 Days to get my shit together as was the same deal with the Nexus.

Best Buy matters not to me. I was buying this off Contract anyway. Ill be first in Line at Sprint whichever day it releases. Always cheaper through Sprint.

I do sense the slightest….slightest hesistation…..if an EPIC 2 finds its release in August with a 4.3″ screen. Then we have PROBLEMS.
