T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide, aka HTC Doubleshot, specs leaked

3D

Someone call the plumber, HTC’s got a leak. Earlier today we reported on spilled shots of the HTC Kingdom and Rider phones, and now full specs for the rumored T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide – also known as the HTC Doubleshot – have been dropped. According to Pocketnow, which analyzed the phone’s ROM, the device will run a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 processor and pack a 3.7-inch WGA display, an 8-megapixel camera capable of (possibly) recording 1080p 3D video, a forward-facing VGA camera for video chat, FM radio, and more. Support for 3D playback also hints that the myTouch 4G Slide could sport a 3D display, although that hasn’t been confirmed. We also assume the aforementioned camera module will likely support just 720p 3D video recording and 1080p 2D recording, which would be in-line with the capabilities of Sprint’s EVO 3D. As its name implies, the device will also support T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 4G network. There aren’t photos of the myTouch 4G Slide yet, but we’re sure someone will loosen up the faucet soon enough.

I feel like the only consumer who just doesn’t give a shit about 3D on phones. All these great specs and then “3D” ruins it for me.

3d is the devil!!!! There is no need to have 3d on a mobile device.

        well said about the 3D

You know the 3D is optional? Like it’s just an extra feature in the phone.

Agreed. Not too excited about having 3D on such a small screen. Here’s my wishlist for an ideal phone, possibly the Nexus 2.

+ Super AMOLED Plus display (4″ is good)
    + Tegra 3 (quad core?)
+ Enough RAM to not be “too little” even 3 years later.
+ Enough internal storage to not be “too little” even 3 years later.
+ G2 style (or even better) physical keyboard.
    + STOCK ANDROID!!! please.
+ Latest Android updates within 1 month of code release by Google, for the next 3 years (at least).
+ HD cameras both front and back.
+ Nokia hardware build quality, battery life and cell reception.
+ Awesome stereo speakers built into the phone.

I’m not sure if you’ve been keeping up, but there’s been some chatter that the next Nexus phone is going to be an LG in the same vein as the G2X but even more hardcore. At least SOME of your wishes have been discussed as easily possible in said handset. Those being Tegra 3, 4″+ display, stock android, stereo speakers, plenty of RAM & Storage (no exact numbers discussed). No physical keyboard, though.

How about a hybrid of a super qHD, raetna, SAMOLED flexible screen that can be rolled up and put back in your pocket, 100MP rear and front facing camera capable of xray, night vision, thermol imaging, face recognition, and pupil scanner, 50×9.9GHz processor running at warp speed, android 50.9 (bread crumbs), keyboard that disappears after use, 9990TB of internal memory, 66AMP battery, and infinity or bose sound system. Oh, did I forget to mention the battery doesn’t die and it has a 100000Tbps radio?

Yeah, maybe that’s the only way most consumers will quit b*&%$#@g. Why aren’t you satisfied with what manufacturers are able to bring us now? Why try to jump ahead of technology? This isn’t star trek, folks.

Really dude? My wish list sounds so unrealistic to you? Every single piece of tech listed over there exists today (save for Tegra 3) in some phone or the other. These nice pieces are scattered among different Android handsets. Galaxy S II is absolutely awesome and comes very close to what I want, but Samsung insists on copying Apple and shoving TouchWiz down my throat. I refuse to give my money to people who take options/choice away from me.

From your reply, it appears Android handset manufacturers have set the bar so low that people have just given up on expecting a quality phone for their money. Sigh!

        - Proud owner of the DInc (one that came closes to my wish list after Google gave up on the Verizon Nexus One!).

I’m sorry man, but getting all of that in a single phone will never happen. That’s why it’s so unrealistic. Didn’t mean to hurt any feelings

Totally unrealistic..it’s impossible to build a handset today that won’t be “too little” three years from now. If that’s what u want, buy a Palm..I hear their specs never change. ;-)

Pretty nice specs for something that looks like a children’s toy

you know that’s not the doubleshot in the picture right?

You and your 2 words per minute?
On a 1 ghz single core?
Oh and how is holding your phone going?

The 1GHz processor in the iPhone 4 is under-clocked to 800MHz btw lol :L

      • Joel

        Incorrect.

    • http://twitter.com/J4M35K James Kelly

LOL no it wouldn’t. The specs wipe the floor with the iPhone 4.

The weakest part is the screen.
MyTouch 4 has 3.8″ so this one should have this size or slightly bigger.

Is T-Mobile making a last stand and trying to go out with a big splash or are they just trying to make the acquisition harder?

    • Oreo

I think there just interested in making as much money of consumers before Dt sell its Usa counterpart. Just a theory.

  • Droidman101

Why the hell does T-mo and Sprint get all the good HTC/Samsung phones?

    • Anonymous

Sprint usually gets one good phone and a wash of meh in bteween.

  • Anonymous

3D doesn’t make sense on this phone.

3.7-inch WGA display? What’s that for resolution? You mean WVGA right?
