RIM to announce only one phone at BlackBerry World?

Exclusive

We’ve heard from two independent sources that RIM is planning on announcing only one handset at BlackBerry World next week, the BlackBerry Bold Touch (or whatever name it ends up launching with). Yeah, that’s right… the company has six major products in the pipeline, all currently set to be released between June and September, and it is only going to announce one of them at the biggest Blackberry event of the year. We’re told this was a last minute change, and if it ends up panning out, well, it’s just plain stupid.

APPLE TO ANNOUNCE ABSOLUTELY NO iPhone at WWDC? << BGR Apple fanbois should also have an article titled like this to gain any credibility.

Some of us are waiting to replace our old BBs. If they are going to play this waiting game, I might as well go over to a Driod

How is it stupid if they’ve maybe scrapped the rest of the lineup in favour of dual core QNX ready phones?

And Mike Lazaridis wonders why there’s a negative sentiment against RIM. RIM needs to step it up and release more devices more frequently with better specs and different form factors. HTC, LG, Samsung, etc crank out tons of devices every quarter.

I really wouldn’t be totally upset if they changed plans. Just look at the success of the thunderbolt on verizon. I believe it sold a crap load because of 4G capabilities alone. RIM needs to step up their game and get a 4G BB. If you can wedge it into a playbook, why not throw it in a phone.

bottom line, they are announcing, releasing and selling products, period.

    everything else is troll bait.

I don’t care that’s the phone I want. Maybe the full scree one will come with QNX so delayed a bit. Again I don’t care.

So BGR’s journalism has resorted to name calling instead of performing an impartial analysis. No wonder blogs get a bad reputation

BGR= the blog that should come with a grain of salt.

Would have to agree with the last statement of this post. RIM is continually losing market share and releasing “a” phone at your premiere developer event is beyond stupid. Your 2011 lineup has already been leaked, you might as well just show your hand and give your faithful some type of release schedule.

Well, I guess this was the deciding factor to wether or not I was going to dish out $2200 for the ticket.

Instead of “hearing from sources” and all this hyped up BS can’t we just wait for the show? Its next week, calm down

blackberrys wont exist in a few years if they dont make some big changes. everyone wants 4 inch touch screens and their os needs to be more user friendly or more open

Same old tired apps, same old PDA trying to be a computer. Blackberry still cannot replace a Daytimer. Data phones will decrease productivity.
