Twitter may acquire TweetDeck

mobile

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Twitter is in “advanced talks” to purchase TweetDeck — the popular desktop and mobile third-party Twitter client. The deal could be worth as much as $50 million, although neither party has commented on the possible acquisition. TweetDeck, based in the U.K, has 15 employees on its payroll. Twitter could use the acquisition to immediately offer a “native” Twitter client in the PC desktop space, especially if it has plans to begin targeting enterprise Twitter users. Although TweetDeck’s engineers have certainly proven that they have the developing chops to compete in the mobile space, too.

as long as they keep the EXACT SAME LAYOUT, THE EXACT SAME FUNCTIONALITY AND THE EXACT SAME UTILITY of TweetDeck, then I don’t care about the acquisition. (Obviously my opinion will be the most important to Twitter.)

Funny that just 15 employees have come up with something better than what Twitter can offer.

Twitter processes huge data! Tweetdeck is a user interface. That’s completely a different job.
Twitter has not focused on user interface yet.

In my opinion, if twitter is going to widen their market share, they are going to have to address the issue of how easy it is to spam users. As a marketer of one of the nations fastest growing computer repair companies, I obviously enjoy the interaction with users, however as a personal twitter User, I do not use twitter as often as I use Facebook, for that reason..

Just like Google bought YouTube 6 years ago, just like Google bought Grandcentral years ago and made it into Google Voice…and Google just struck again and bought another company before Apple could, which also wanted it. Forgot exactly what it’s called.

You think the X-Box Kinect was invented by Microsoft? Nope. That was an Israeli company **looking to sell** its technology. They tried Apple first, but found them too “cumbersome” to deal with, so they tried two states up with MS, which jumped on the chance.

    Just to name a few…;-)
