Apple releases iOS 4.3.2 for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch; iOS 4.2.7 for Verizon iPhone

Breaking

In line with BGR’s exclusive report earlier this week, Apple on Thursday released iOS version 4.3.2 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The only changes noted by Apple are bug fixes and security updates. Apple does specifically note that the update fixes a crash related to FaceTime, as we reported, and it also fixes some iPad 3G + Wi-Fi connectivity issues. Also of note, iOS 4.2.7 — also a minor update with bug fixes and security updates — is now available for Verizon Wireless’ iPhone 4. Both updates are available immediately via iTunes.

I don’t understand why we get an article about every iOS point release…

    • http://www.facebook.com/TxAggieMichael Michael Johnson

We didn’t get articles about Android 2.3.1, Android 2.3.2, Android 2.3.3, or Android 3.0.1. And we sure as hell don’t get updates about every single blackberry, wp7, windows, or linux distro point releases. Is this really necessary?

      • xxdesmus

        if it’s Apple-related of course it’s necessary …what a silly question.

yet none of you whined about that. Drooiddd’ers = whinnneerrrs.

None of them seem to know how to SKIP a Apple/iOS topic? Is it low IQ? They keep bitching about it, yet they can’t help themselves to go into the Topic and read it and then spend even more time bitching about it and calling us isheep and everything else. Really they need to look in the Mirror!!!

      • 1T2dirtnap

Exactly, all the complaining came from Goofan’s who complained about Apple! LOL! Apple had nothing to do with that article! Like I said before they’re worst then the worst Apple fanboys.

If they did, I wouldn’t have cared and would have skipped right over those topics and found a topic I liked and read that, instead of coming to a topic I HATE, a Company I hate and Bitching about it once again!!!!!!

      • chris

Nobody cares about the other platforms. Android’s fragmented. BB’s dying, and windows phone is a joke.

      • Anonymous

If they released updates, maybe they would.

      • VirginMerry

People who buy Apple products are informed, highly educated, tech savy people – they want to be informed of these updates. To contrast there are the fAndroids who are your typical teenage girl who can’t afford and Apple – so the settle but they really didn’t know what they were doing or how to use it but it comes in some really cute colors and stuff……

    • Nate

      I guess there’s a demand for it :)

    • Anonymous

because there has to be one iOS point article per every 10-20 android point articles, which discuss 40 difference devices, on half a dozen carriers, by 5 different manufactures, each with its own fragmented cover UI

      • Phrough

LOL…..and this isn’t fragmentation???? Fanboi’s of all phones need to realize fragmentation is always going to happen. It’s less in iOS because Apple won’t allow other manufactures to build phones fro iOS. Google, on the other hand encourages it. Therefore, manufactures are going to build what they want / what carriers request. It’s that simple. To be a stupid Apple Fanboi and blame Google for this is crazy. It’s called capitalism.

Fanboi’s are pathetic. It’s everyone’s own choice as to what phone they use. It would be funny to see how many people like you and all the Apple, Android, Rim, etc fanbois actually owne stock in the companies they so passionately defend to the death. You made a choice on the phone you like, who cares what other people decide they like. Everyone has their own taste. If you have that little self confidence that you have to “make fun” of a cell phone operating system, you have some serious issues that you should probably have professionally addressed.

      • http://www.droiddoes.com/ Norm

        You retarded???

      • Anonymous

Ok, phrough, you want full disclosure? Yes, I bought nice chunk of AAPL shares in May 1997 on a whim. Woo-hoo! :) ))))

But the point of my comment was merely this: some people get very ‘annoyed’ at a post about Apple releasing an OS point update, fair enough, but readers must endure a gazillion Android point update articles about a handful of handsets on a handful of carriers and a handful of cover UIs. It’s not unlike someone from Nome Alaska complaining to someone from L.A. about how bad the traffic is in Nome.

    • Anonymous

Because you SUCKERS go into the Topic and then post messages!!! Instead of being smart and skipping over the Topic to something Else!!! This brings in more money in Advertising. All you Apple Haters can’t help yourself. See even YOU had to post a message, when it would have taken ZERO effort to roll on by this topic to something that’s of real interest to YOU! Instead your a Complainer. Even I can be annoyed at times from all the Apple Topics but it’s done because it brings in traffic for you and others to Complain about, and Bitch and Hate on Apple some more, while BGR and all the others make money from the Ads. As long as this continues, so will the Apple/iOS topics. One after another. It’s just so predicable.

Apple patched the untethered JB in 4.3.2. It’s gonna take them a while to find another one.

I can’t believe this day finally arrived! I’m so excited I’m literally crying over here. Tears of joy. What wonders will 4.3.2 bring us? Can’t wait to find out. Developing…

    • http://www.facebook.com/TxAggieMichael Michael Johnson

      Well done! ;-)

    • Anonymous

As an update to my post, I’ve seen what 4.3.2 brings us (or 4.2.7 for those hapless VZW iPhone people), and quite frankly, it is GLORIOUS!!! Never before have 24 evenly spaced icons been rendered so beautifully. It’s magic I tell you!

I’m curious as to when they will provide us an update to the equally amazing, rock solid, and efficient iTunes software. I could use an update to the Bonjour service and the MobileMe control panel applet.

  • xxdesmus

The changelog really should just be an ascii middle finger to jailbreaks.

Nice try Apple. Keeping trying to plug all those holes, and they will keep right on jailbreaking it …why not put all that internal development effort to good use instead (like fixing the damn notification system).

    • Anonymous

Apple not doing anything any other Hardware Device Maker/Phone company wouldn’t do!!! The only difference is Apple continually updates the OS quite a few times a year, Something that was never done in the past, and something rarely seen on Android. I’ve had no need to jailbreak my Iphone. So zero effect to me and most people. At least there is the Option I guess, but it’s really not a big deal. I know many people with iphones and not 1 has been jail broken.

      • atlharry

android doesn’t update multiple times during the year? huh?

      • Anonymous

Google Updates Android, your Phone Company and google for that matter could care less about Updating your Android Phone. They have moved on to new Android phones. You would be lucky to see 1 Update for your phone. Unless you go though all the trouble of Installing a Update yourself jailbreaking your phone if whatever it’s called to do it, for most people, the phone will never see a update for the 2 years they own it before buying a New Android phone with maybe the latest Android software once again.

When will people realize that BGR doesn’t really care about what other phones you get? I mean, they DO, but those aren’t as important as the big wigs: Apple/Android and then whomever else may follow. But as it is, Apple and then Android release more updates than the other ones. And it’s really all about Apple and Android. The others are important to some, but not the many that come on this site (which are mostly, but not all, Apple and Android users). Thanks for your time.

I’m happy too see my Verizon iPhone is getting an update, minor or not. This shows that apple has not abandoned the CDMA version. I will take this bone but I really would like to have the features from 4.3.

BGR was the only site to know about this? And the only 1 to write about it?

Wow. BGR is good. Very good.

Why do they refuse to update the Verizon version to 4.3? It can’t be that much extra work.

I don’t care about the update, as long as iFart still works, I’m happy.

iOS fragmentation. I guess iOS is no better than Android now…….
