HP's webOS 3.0 beta 1 gets exhaustive review via emulator [video]

Software

The brood over at PreCentral have managed to acquire a leaked copy of HP’s webOS 3.0 beta 1 software development kit (SDK). Why is this a good thing? Because contained within said SDK rests a TouchPad, webOS 3.0 emulator, of course. While emulators only provide 50% of the TouchPad story — the other half being hardware — it is useful to get a high-level overview of what user interface will look like. If you want to whet your appetite for this summers TouchPad release, hit the jump. There’s an eighteen minute video overview awaiting your scrutiny. Be sure to click through the read link as well for a host of screen grabs.

Had a palm pre plus before I switched to my verizon iphone. Loved webos and would consider a webos tablet or hp netbook with dual boot win7 and webos in the future if I ever have a reason to ditch my macbook.

That have to be the stupidest comment I’ve ever read. That player is not even close to itunes. When applefans see innovation they say it looks like something from Apple. Ignorants.

Did I just get rick roll’d?

    Rick Astley!! Nice!!

I notice they tried to hide this fact by removing the artist information before starting the demo…

No they said only WAV files work on the emulator, so it didn’t show info. Still fun getting rickrolled

Haha they could have changed the iTunes / iPod music play UI a bit before using it at least.
