T-Mobile's first 4G mobile hotspot launches tomorrow

General

In line with earlier rumors, T-Mobile confirmed on Monday that it will launch its first 4G mobile hotspot on Wednesday, April 13th. Built by ZTE, the T-Mobile 4G Mobile Hotspot will allow up to five devices to connect via Wi-Fi and share T-Mobile’s 4G HSPA+ cellular data service. The unit will run $79.99 with a new two-year contract, and a new $84.99 data plan will be available at launch. The new plan provides 10GB of mobile broadband per month with no overages — instead, data speeds will be throttled when the 10GB soft cap is reached.

Great so in a year when the merger goes through this modem won’t work on T-Mobile HSPA+ it will be EDGE. Because if you have read and heard AT&T’s plan for the merger they are not going to use T-Mobile AWS 3G/4G spectrum!

Wow, really Tmobile charges more than Verizon Wireless at much slower speeds.

you actually get the plan for just over $65 if you already have a T-mobile cell plan and speeds are pretty close (21 MB down)

I suppose that depends on where because i tested 4 different stores in LA, where they had 4 bars 4G service on their fastest device, average was 4.5 mbps, and peaked at 6mbps.
