T-Mobile's HSPA+ mobile hotspot set to launch April 13th, suggest rumors

Intel gathered by blog TmoNews suggests that T-Mobile’s HSPA+, 4G mobile hotspot will be released this Wednesday, April 13th. First seen at CTIA last month, the hostspot will provide connectivity for up to five Wi-Fi enabled device’s on the company’s wireless network. While we don’t know which HSPA+ radio the device will be packing — 21Mbps or 42Mbps — we do know that it will have a built-in VPN client and “optional SMS” support. We snapped a few images of the little, partially-green, Internet throwing machine (that wouldn’t power on) on the CTIA showroom floor. Have a look for yourself.

We bought ours today and it is amazing- streams Slingbox extremely well. Think the tmo rep didn’t realize he wasn’t supposed to sell until Wednesday!

What are the pricing details? Is it faster than the wifi hotspot that is on an android phone? I’m actually very impressed with that speed when I have a good signal. Emphasis on a good signal!!!

He didn’t even charge us for the unit- it rang up zero so that is what he gave us. I know it’s $40 per month for the data plan though.

Why make the investment with a company that has no future. You could end up wth a product that won’t even work once AT&T takes over.
