Google’s YouTube on Friday announced that it is rolling out its new YouTube Live beta platform located at http://www.youtube.com/live. YouTube will use the channel to stream live events, concerts, interviews and more. Users will be able to subscribe to partners streaming on YouTube Live and will be notified of events as they approach. The online video service said it is only working with a few partners initially, but that “the goal is to provide thousands of partners with the capability to live stream form their channels in the months ahead.” The service also allows viewers to interact with live streamers and each other during broadcasts using YouTube’s live comments feature.

Ustream is open to the everyday user. No word if YouTube Live will be available to all end users or just “partners”

i think you mean live streaming… unless its steaming and it may be even more interesting..!

Sadly, I don’t think this is something I would be even slightly interested in.

Interesting. Wonder if we will be watching the World Cup on YouTube some day?

Live comments too. Now you can watch the most ignorant and vile sentiments humanity has to offer in real time!

Why do you assume that? During the World Cup of football, ESPN ESPN was not only broadcasting it on their website, people’s comments were live as well. Yes there were vile sentiments from outsourced surfers also, but it was not all about it.

I was referring to the renowned ignorance of youtube commenters, not world cup viewers. Maybe I didn’t make that clear enough.

    “…live stream FROM their channels…”

    Corrected.

I have been waiting for this! I began a 24/7 LifeCaster on Stickam on 1/1/11. I have had over 400,000 hits since then. I am a pioneer and a businessman. I am writing a book on livestreaming and can help. I simply want to be a part of where this is going. Please reach out. -James Festini FESTINI.TV

I am uncertain as to what you mean by you tube live ‘streaming’. Sounds to me just like another way of saying pre-recorded. To me – live is REALLY live – and I guess you cannot produce that type of programming on any consistent level. I, for one, would appreciate the HONESTY and not an almost; I wish we could; do that for you viewers.
