WebOS 3.0 for HP TouchPad spied in leaked screenshots

mobile

WebOS enthusiast blog PreCentral.net on Thursday published a series of screenshots from HP’s upcoming webOS 3.0 operating system for the TouchPad tablet. The images were pulled from an emulator as opposed to an actual device but we can still see several areas of the OS such as the Web browser, the virtual keyboard, Bing Maps, the music player and the messaging app. BGR took a hands-on look at the HP TouchPad when it was announced in February. We found the tablet to be quite impressive, especially in its integration with webOS-powered HP smartphones. HP’s CEO said in January that the company would be narrowing the gap between device announcements and launches, yet HP still has not announced release details for the TouchPad or the two smartphones announced in early February, the Pre 3 and Veer. Hit the break for more images of webOS 3.0.

If it’s not coming to Sprint, I’m joining the Android fight (in 3-Deeeeeee!) D.D

      • heyhey

lol, u won’t b fighting too long though because spending a few days with an android device will make u hate urself and hate android as well….hopefully u wont need to fight,…. period.

i feel exactly the same….i am totally sold…i will buy me a touchpad the first day it goes on sale….with HP’s hardware muscle and connectivity to printers and desktops, webos should soar as high as it has always so rightfully deserved and yet so painfully been held back. i was pissed over the whole delay until summer release but seeing how ungraceful and messy honeycomb’s debut was, i now appreciate the wait and hope that HP releases this thing with a bang; by bang i mean: no need to return to factory for upgrade; no promise to run flash and yet released without it; no SD card theoretical support; no crappy OS that does not even have a functional calendar application; at least 100 DECENT apps available from day 1.

bring it on HP bring it on!!!

wrong you forget like most of you people that Palm has more patents then any company out there when considering OS’s for mobile devices. The reason why Apple, and Google tried to buy Palm get your head out of the ground.

I don’t think pulling images out of an emulator really count as a “HP TouchPad Spied” leak …but your title sure is link bait.

    • Andrew

Actually, it’s “WebOS 3.0” that is spied in leaked screenshots. The “for HP TouchPad” is appended onto the subject.

    Memory
    HD space
    Core

what feel u like the most of all the OS because it is not going the look of the OS THEY ALL LOOOK THE SAME BECAUSE THEY ARE LINUX BASED ALL OF THEM! there got that out of my systems that is a i read oh he stole from him no they stole from this.. well linux stole from UNIX.. !!!

  • i told u so.com

for all the blind Apple sheep, Palm has been in the game before Apple, and had a UI like this before Apple even launched the first Iphone, so no Apple copied Palm decades ago. People need to research first before making dumb statements. Palm is one of the first pioneers in the smartphone game, and created the first PDA, has more patents then any company (now HP does), and knows how to innovate. This is not Google, or RIM who just copy other people this is Webos, the future.

    Looks familiar…

Not the brightest of ideas to make your OS look (a lot) like the competitors. Really, how hard is it to come up something more unique given the massive budget. Sometimes I think these companies are not even trying.
