iPad 2 could hit Toys R’ Us in May

Tablets

Toys R’ Us may begin selling the iPad 2 next month according to a report from enthusiast site ModMyi. The site’s source provided a leaked screen shot that shows employee training software as well as a secondary product knowledge sheet. Apple’s latest tablet has been wildly popular since its launch on March 11th so this is good news for consumers trying to get their hands on a unit. As of late March, Apple began replenishing the stock in some retail stores, and its online store says that customers still have to wait 2-3 weeks for new orders to ship. The iPad 2 is also available from AT&T, Best Buy, RadioShack, Target, Verizon Wireless and Walmart, among other retailers. Toys R’ Us has not yet officially announced plans to offer the iPad 2.

Ok. So finally the iPad sells where it belongs.

That’s where I bought my Atari 800 with the cassette drive.

Thats where the majority of us goofans (aka apple haters) bought our first barbies and kens.

I think you’re confused. Barbies and Kens are overpriced toys that are popular and look cool, but provide no added value. Sound familiar?

My sister works at a toysrus here in chicago and she had to take a quiz on it yesterday. Everyone in the store has to watch a training video and then answer questions on the size of the screen, about the app store, how much memory it holds, things like that. Too bad her discount can’t be used on electronics or would have made me buy one sooner then I planned (trying to hold out till the iPad 3).

Is that all the training that one needs? Gosh, that’s so easy. Let’s see:

      Screen Size < XOOOOOOOOM
APP' Store = Subject to change & App'roval
      Memory < when formatted but = 0.30

      That was easzy!!

That’s the perfect place for it, will it be next
to G. iJoe, in the Playskool aisle, with the pink TeleTubbies, or alongside the Fisher Price Doodle Pro.
Get ready for the iDoodle Pro!! Yeaaaa …..

I think this will hurt its image as a computing device that wants to be taken serious by older adults & business professionals. Toys R Us also has netbooks but that also proves my point. Seems like Apple used to consider themselves special but now theyre turning into everyday consumer products. I dont think anything is wrong with that at all because none of it is “special” but if u allow iPads to be sold in a toy store or WalMart & tout how powerful it is, why arent Macs in WalMart as well?

    • Biggles

Don’t worry. They’ll maintain their special pricing.

Apple seemed to introduce the iPad as a “laptop killer” but the device caught on as more of a toy than a productivity device… Yes you can do productive things on it but more people who buy it tend to want it for entertainment, media, games, apps, etc… rather than work.

    An that’s where it belongs.

they will face less competition and people won’t be exposed to better tech in a TRU. iSheep would tend to frequent TRU and Wal-mart and the staff generally won’t have the tech knowledge to recommend something else.

Something as simple to use and cute is only for kids… Complicated like android is for us adults.

Well, I always said that iOS feels like it was developed by Fischer Price.
