BlackBerry Bold Touch hands-on!

Exclusive

What, you thought we were stopping with our exclusive hands-on with the BlackBerry Touch (Monaco / Monza)? Not at all, we’re back at it with the big boy in RIM’s 2011 lineup: the BlackBerry Bold Touch. We first scooped this smartphone back in January and we have to say, it most certainly looks better in person compared to the product renders — and that’s pretty spectacular seeing how appetizing those renders looked. The unit itself is extremely solid and the touchscreen is very responsive… and who could forget that great and spacious BlackBerry keyboard? The BlackBerry Bold Touch also uses a new battery from RIM, so hopefully the addition of a touchscreen to this famous BlackBerry form factor won’t have too much of a negative impact on battery life. We’re told the device will be announced at BlackBerry World and a global release is slated for the June-July time frame. Make sure to check out all the photos in our hands-on gallery!

Not sure if this will save RIM. Android is ruling the market and executives are now running around with iPads.

Why must every article regarding cell phones turn into mud slinging? “Blackberries are boring, iPhones are useless toys, Android is on horrible phones, who cares about WP7 and webOS, etc etc.” It’s the same thing every time. Am i the only one who gets tired of it? If you don’t like the phone, fine. Leaving a comment saying what you don’t like about it really changes NOTHING about what others think about it. People get so amped over a phone, it’s ridiculous. I’m not saying you aren’t entitled to your own opinions, but I see the same people to go every article regarding a Blackberry and say “People still buy those?” It serves no purpose. When HTC, Apple or RIM starts cutting you checks for trolling for their phones then ok, do your thing.

    But until then, kick rocks.

This blackberry is probably the one that is worth going for. The specs is quite nice for a blackberry. Keep it up and bring it to the market quickly!!!!

All iPhone’s look the same so I would rate the iPhone as a failed product, too.

Dumbass. Don’t be follower. Use all the devices so you can create your own opinion.

I had a android phone since 2 years ago. Now i have a BB Bold 9780. Now i use my android phone as a dildo-vibrator with my girlfiend. BB rules.

I’ve had the Bold 9700 since FOREVER. It’s pretty much a perfect phone IMO. I “upgraded” to a Droid Incredible but after a week I sent it back and went back to my 9700.

I have an iPad, so I want a phone that is a phone and email machine. I can play on my iPad. I also much prefer physical keys to type with. I actually prefer typing on my BB to typing on my iPad, but that’s probably just me.

This new phone looks interesting, as I have found myself trying to swipe the screen on my BB after spending time on my iPad. It’s the way of the future, way of the future…

Does anyone know if this is a Qualcomm Snapdragon or a Marvell processor? Thanks.

Is the Bold Touch likely to be a T-mobile exclusive device or are AT&T and Verizon also likely to offer this phone when it it initially released? I have used the original Bold 9000 for business purposes for the past two years and am excited about this significantly upgraded version.
