HTC’s highly anticipated Android smartphone codenamed “Pyramid” may finally be unveiled as the HTC Sensation at a media event in London on April 12th. An unconfirmed report from technology blog Pocket-lint cites multiple unnamed sources in claiming that the device will be introduced at the HTC event as had previously been rumored. Earlier reports suggest the Sensation will be a Gingerbread phone with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a 4.3-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera, 768MB of RAM and the latest version of the HTC Sense UI. Pocket-lint’s report states that the HTC Sensation will be available in the U.K. in the coming months but does not mention U.S. availability.

Sense-ation. Do not want. Gimme vanilla or CM and I might be all over this.

CM? You know that’s an aftermarket rom right?

I do. Was meant to imply that I hope HTC isn’t locking the bootloader.

All bootloaders are locked. Motorola encrypts their bootloader. HTC does not.

Moto isn’t the only OEM to encrypt. HTC announced they’d start doing it as well on new devices.

    I like its design.

I WANT!! As long as the battery life isn’t a joke like the Desire HD.

Yeah, if the battery size is less than 1750mAh, i’m going to be very disappointed.

Take a look at the picture with the screen facing up… Any one else see an iPhone 4-like death grip area or am I hallucinating?

Looks to be the seams of the battery cover parts. The black and silver parts to be exact. To my knowledge HTC doesn’t have any external antennas on any of their devices like the iPhone 4.

Why are the code names always way cooler than the release name? Pyramid is an awesome name. Sensation = not so sensational.
