eBay outs iPad 2 sales data

mobile

eBay has revealed sales figures for the iPad 2 during its first two weeks on the market. The online auction house created a chart that shows just under 12,000 iPad 2 units were sold during the two week period that it was exclusively available in the United States. The graphic notes that 35% of iPad 2 units sold during that 2 week period were to international customers looking to get an early taste — that figure is down from the 65% of international customers who purchased the original iPad on eBay. Canada and Russia were the two largest importers, each purchasing about 500 iPad 2 tablets. Hong Kong, Japan, and the United Kingdom each bought about 350. Australia purchased 317 iPads last year, but only purchased 110 iPad 2 devices in 2010. The 16GB Wi-Fi version of the iPad 2 was the most popular, as it represented 30% of all iPad 2 sales. Apple has yet to release its official iPad 2 sales figures.

    Africa gets no love?

I was in Uganda two years ago talking with some 20-somethings and the subject turned to my cell phone and buying unlocked phones. They told me that they often tried to buy things on eBay from Americans but that people would never sell to anyone in Africa and asked why. I told them to thank their Nigerian friends for ruining things for an entire continent.

      They didn’t seem surprised.

Exactly, they are so corrupt beyond belief. The west should impose sanctions on Nigeria. Many of them are running paypal scams on Craigslist.

I myself have sold over 20,000 xooms. No contest!

add my 20,000 sales of Galaxy Tab to that….puts shame to the iPad sales….Android FTW!!!!

Heck yeah baby! That, folks, is the power of openness and freedom. Because Apple is completely closed and opposed to freedom and the free world, they can’t compete with Android and Google! Period! Good job Alex!

Add to yours and mine Alex, I understand the following as well:

        ZAPATITO: 14,090 combined Android tablets
        PAPITO: 21,987 combined Android tablets
        TIMMYBOY: 3,908 combined Android tablets
        NORM: 43,900 combined Android tablets
        WALT: 21,000 combined Android tablets

        The Apple fanboys:

        MACBOY: 3 iPads 1 and 2 Combined
        BRINGIT: 2 iPad 2

Make that 43,901….I couldn’t pass on that sprint 200 galaxy tab on contract.

    yawn – dld news… 9 to 5 had this 24 hours ago.

“did news”? You must have typed that on an iOS device. Android devices know exactly what you are trying to say and type it for you, regardless of what you type. That is the power of openness and freedom!

Take this comment I made for example, I originally typed:

“what the hell is this guy talking about ?” and what came out on the android tablet is the first paragraph.

      Amazing ain’t it?

It is not surprising at all to see iPad 2’s demand go very high. With the success of the original iPad, it is expected that the second generation will be more accepted by consumers. And with the not so successful sales of Motorola Xoom, the only serious competitor of iPad 2 will be the Samsung Galaxy that will be released in June.
