HTC Pyramid to launch in late-May on SFR, rumor suggests

mobile

An image procured by French site FrAndroid suggests that HTC’s unannounced — but well documented — Pyramid handset may be scheduled for a European release in very the near future. This site’s source indicated that the 1.2GHz, 4.3-inch handset should be landing on French carrier SFR sometime in “late-May.” HTC recently announced an April 14th media event, and the Pyramid is popular announcement prognostications from technology pundits. It does seem unlikely that this particular handset will ever make its way Stateside, but a blogger can dream… can’t he?

“It does seem unlikely that this particular handset will ever make its way Stateside,…”

Is that becuase of inferior American technology?

Or perhaps notoriously cheap American buyers?

Doesn’t mean it can’t launch on an international carrier.

I meant in accordance to the comment where he said “It does seem unlikely that this particular handset will ever make its way Stateside, but a blogger can dream… can’t he?”

It seems unlikely that this blogger has any evidence either way of this launching stateside.

This is getting very confusing and HTC France should urgently clarify the situation. On one side an HTC France Tweet widely circulating on the Net said new HTC EVO 3D would come to Europe this time, understand to France, under the same EVO 3D name as in the US. No date given but since US date is # June, we expect it by this summer.
Then this HTC Pyramid is rumored to come to SFR/Voda France in May. Has been rumored with slightly lower specs (No 3D display nor 3D back-facing camera, seams ton have a lower battery vs 1750VA in EVO 3G, and a lower Qualcom Snapdragon MSM 8260 compared to EVO 3D MSM 8660, that will make Pyramid a Europe-only phone (GSM/UMTS up to HSPA+ but limited to European Bands) while EVO 3D could be a true World-Phone, adding to 8260 features the support CDMA/EVO up to HSPA+ on main US bands. Not sure of Sprint unique WiMax extra chip will be retained for European EVO 3D. Not required in my view since Sprint was quoted to allow no International rooming…).
On my side I’ll wait for the MUCH BETTER EVO 3D to arrive to Europe and will skip the Pyramid, still considering the Motorola Atrix 4G as a possible good alternative depending when it arrives here and with what Networks supported (I travel a lot hence need a World-Phone. Moto remains very unclear on the networks supported here)
