Amazon may intro cloud storage for music/movies/books this week

mobile

Amazon may launch a new online storage locker this week that will allow users to store digital content — such as books, music, and movies — on Amazon’s servers. CNET, which cites sources from both the music and film industries, says Amazon is racing to launch the service in an effort to beat both Google and Apple to the market. This past weekend we reported that Google is already testing its own music service internally, and rumor has it that Apple may launch a new MobileMe service with a cloud-based music option, too. It’s unclear what Amazon will charge for such a service, but there are rumor’s that MobileMe could become a free service.

It’s hard to get non-apple news out in a timely fashion … instead of rumors of future releases, BGR offers conjecture on what’s already happened. Sort of guessing the past …but missing

I heard that if you buy any album, your free 5GB of storage gets upgraded to 20GB. This guessing the past is fun!

    • Whee365

It’s only a 20 gig trial. It goes back to 5 automatically unless you upgrade for $20/year.

      • Tim242

That is incorrect. It is 20 GB free for first year.
