Tiny Wings iOS game updated with Game Center support, more

Gaming

Andreas Illiger, the designer behind the hit game Tiny Wings for iPhone, iPod touch and the iPad, has updated the app with a number of enhancements and bug fixes. Game Center support is now included and there are also leaderboards for distance, longest fever jump, most cloud touches and more. Illiger has also added a new nest to the game, a statistics page and the option to play your own music (although the default Tiny Birds tune is pretty addictive in its own right). Beyond that, we dig that Illiger made the sixth island easier, considering we’ve never been past the seventh island before tiny bird falls asleep. If you haven’t downloaded Tiny Wings yet, do so now — your Chipotle lunch breaks will be that much less boring. Hit the jump for a list of bug fixes.

  • text notification crash
  • random crash when arriving on 10th island (Seriously, has anyone gotten to the 10th island yet?)
  • random lag when arriving on the 5th island
  • fever mode cheat
  • tiny performance improvements
  • many other minor bug fixes

10th island, lol, don’t think so, I can’t get past the 6th. Looking in the game centre leaderboards there are people with 15 million points. I don’t understand how that’s possible when I struggle to get to 70k

They are cheating. There is a hack in cydia that allows you to control speed of the bird and daytime/nighttime speeds.

That’s lame. Why can’t people try to get to the top of the leaderboard without cheating. Oh, I know. It’s because they suck.

I have come to the 9th island myself and my top score is 212 000

I don’t think it’s possible. When Infinity Blade came out, people on the leaderboards were like level one billion+ (which is impossible) and then got removed later on.

I finished the 10th island twice.. obviously were my top scores.
Both crashed and I’ve lost my points :(

I heard Steve Jobs had a burger for lunch. Why don’t you write an article about that?

Someday when Android gets decent games like this I am sure they will talk about those as well. But until then……

This comes from a disgruntled Android owner completely disappointed with what Android has to offer apps wise.

because hundreds of thousands of people aren’t entertaining themselves by watching steve jobs eat. They are, however, entertained by this game.

I love this game! It’s great for adults and children!

Are you sure there’s and iPad version of Tiny Wings? I’ve never seen one in the App Store.

    This makes general techy/gadget news?

Time to change the name of the site. It should be Apple Report: and other gadget news (as long as that news is negative news for other platforms. Or can be twisted to say that the non-apple platform sucks.)

    • Where’s the respect?

I’m surprised the headline didn’t read “New version of game for iOS causes RIM stock to drop.” Maybe they can run another story from three years ago that says something bad about anyone other than Apple, like they did last week.

From the “about” page: “Today, the site has evolved into one of the most respected sources of technology news, in-depth analyses and product reviews on the Web.”

Respected? Coffee just shot out my nose.

this game is NOT on the ipad just the stupid guide which really gives no useful tips at all.

BGR can you start telling us when you are being paid to post this garbage, why is this tech news? There are 300,000 + apps for iOS, are you going to start telling us about updates for all those aswell.

  • John

    Tiny Wings for iPad??

  • Anonymous

Are we going to see articles each time an iOS game gets a minor update then?

  • Anonymous

Hmm let’s see, the most popular app being downloaded in the most popular app store gets a big update, they post a story about it.

For all you fucks whining about it, (a) why did you click through the story, and (b) why did you post a comment about it?

Shut the fuck up already you whiny bitches.
