Netflix streaming service down?

Our inbox is littered with tips from frustrated Netflix users attempting to stream videos from the site’s service. Reports state that Netflix’s Instant service, in all its forms, has been down for the last several hours. If you were planning to have a nice evening in with your main-squeeze and a slightly dated movie, this certainly would put a damper on those plans. Anyone out there experiencing this?

    it was down on all forms including online, it’s back up mostly now. shoulda gotten a screenshot but basically their entire site was a “Sorry we’re down” page and reassuring people their DVDs would get mailed regardless.

    i stream thru ps3 and its been down for the past almost 4 hrs now…. im getting aggravated they shoulda sent an email or something to assure this is going to be fixed soon or how est. long itll take to fix…. cuz this is rediculous i dont have basic cable tv i use netflix as my everyday cable box and a sold my dvds that i have had n this sucks! I know it goes in n out for routine maintance but this is getting alil old….

    Really need to fix adding NEW movies and tv shows. Kinda need to watch one last season and am very disappointed that I cannot, still. Work on this HARDER if you even are trying, Netflix. May quit you soon.

    Yes, it was down all evening for me. And it’s very annoying to see that their website has no email contact. To call in was a 20 minute wait!

    I was having problems streaming Netflix on my PS3, the feature would start and freeze. I knew bandwidth shouldn’t be an issue as my ISP isn’t knowingly throttling my bandwidth and my internal home network is Gigabit. I also knew the Firewall port settings shouldn’t be a problem since only ports 80 and 443 are used. After doing some checking I logged into my Cisco RSV 4000 Small Business VPN Router and disabled the Intrusion Protection System. Once the IPS was disabled the streaming problems went away.
    If anyone is using an IPS in conjunction with their Firewall, try turning off the IPS function when you want to stream.
