Didn’t they say the release was April 10th not too long ago?

    • Hi

no, that’s what the blogs said.

“They” never did. Rumor sites did.

I’ll be buying the wi-fi version. Bridging it to my Bold 9650 will be sweet.

Exactly!! I purchased an iPad for my wife a while ago. I love Apple products and believe the company is truly an innovation leader. However, the iPad doesn’t even come close to feature and functionality of the Playbook no matter how you measure them up: specs, features, functionality, etc. Again, I love Apple products but some of these Apple cheerleaders just look beyond the facts and just listen to what Steve Jobs says.

iPad doesn’t even come close to feature and functionality of the Playbook

could you be more specific? Specs I get. I can read those. What significant features and functionality does PB have that iPad doesn’t? (other than maybe Flash)

      Not bashing BB just asking.

I don’t know how you would pre-order this thing since its pretty much unproven. Some of the most important functions are “coming soon”? Without a BB what limitations are there on using email, messaging, calendar, contacts? Has RIMM actually confirmed the ability to use Android apps – otherwise what is the app selection going to look like?

      • Hi

Bridging is only required for BES mail. GMAIL and all that crap doesn’t fall into that category.

      • BB ok?

You evidently don’t have a BB. I get my GMAIL via BES.

      • Qnx

ummm GMAIL, HOTMAIL, YAHOO etc are all BIS services.

hmmmm. Real multi-tasking. Just hate it when I have to keep going back to the home page to launch another app…lol What about better security and the ability to sync with a device I already carry. The fact that I use a Blackberry for work it makes sense for me. I also use an Android phone as my personal phone. Before you go there, I owned two iPhone and still prefer Android over the iPhone.

“I don’t know how you order this thing since its pretty much unproven.” Interesting, do you mean like the iPhone when it had its antenna problem. Every product is unproven until it get in consumers hands, including Apple Products. So was the iPad proven before consumers had it or it was proven because Steve Jobs said so? Lastly, without a BB you can still get POP email, Yahoo, Google, etc.

sure will be nice to drain two batteries at once while you’re surfing flash sites! How much battery are you expecting? I don’t see that spec on the Playbook site.

The only thing I think Android has over the iPhone today is a better notification system, blackberry and winphone too…badges just aren’t informative enough.

I already own an iPad and an iPhone. I’ll be keen to check out the PlayBook but Apple has set the bar so incredibly high. I’ve had my iPad for almost a year and hardly even notice the fact that it won’t play Flash.

Listen up, BB Morons. If you think this device out performs the xoom or iPad, you’re living in 2001. Much like this stoooopid 5″ tablet (2″ border).

Trolls don’t do math very well do they?

  • yupyup

I swear, some of you people act like you own Apple or something, damn, Apple is not for everyone but I WILL say no one can touch the ipod till this day.

But this BB tab look like it’s for real though, just look at the videos, Apple better watch out.

I was personally, very interested in this device, but now with Samsung, LG, and another Motorola tablet by years end I’m sure. I’ll just have to wait and see once they’re all out and see how they all compare with each other in person.

I was the first person to pre-order my Playbook at the Best Buy Store in Union, NJ @ 11:30 am. I don’t know if that’s good or bad, but I’m excited nonetheless. Can’t wait until 4/19

Staples will also be carrying this and the rest of the tablets out this spring.

  • Ravinder

No pre-order but will be in queue on day 1….

  • Hockey88

as much as people are saying its overpriced. i already preordered it because it will be worth paying the price. Especially for a tab that has true multitasking. Such as the demo of the playbook they showed running Quake, HD Movie, HD Pic App, and Internet all at the same time.
