mobile

Best Buy announced on Monday that it will begin accepting pre-orders for Sprint’s Nexus S 4G immediately. Best Buy will sell the device in its Best Buy Mobile stores and online. While pricing hasn’t yet been announced, one store confirmed to BGR that customers can pre-order Nexus S 4G with a $50 deposit, which will be applied to the final purchase price. The Nexus S 4G is nearly identical to the original Nexus S on T-Mobile, but it’s a bit thicker and heavier due to the new radios for CDMA and 4G WiMAX. Hit the jump for the full release.

1st Douche you mean. Get off the internet and get a spray tan Jersey Shore.

Hopefully this signals Sprint being the new home of future Nexus phones. Getting your old Sprint 1 year premier upgrade getting yanked from under you sucks big time. I would have bought this phone knowing I only would have had it for a year.I just don’t like the build quality of Sammy and hope HTC gets to build another Nexus phone. With AT&T the way it is the Nexus phones will probably take 3rd fiddle to AT&T’s iPhone and skinned Android phones.

the spray tan would get more girls than your ugly ass

I would buy this phone in a second if Sprint had 4G here in Phoenix but they don’t =/

  • Caz

Official Sprint pricing is $199.99 after mail in rebate, so chances are Best Buy will just sell it for $199.99.

    • Cer

      Link or it didn’t happen.

      • Caz

I tried posting a link, needs mod review.

I have a screenshot of my screen that says it is though.

Sprint? Aren’t they like the smallest carrier in the US?

I would get a phone from Best Buy in a heartbeat if i was a new customer…however..if i need to buy off contract…Sprint Store will always be cheaper.

    • Cer

      Always AND significantly cheaper.

Give me a Verizon LTE version of this phone and I am there! Still waiting for something good to replace my Blackberry Storm 1!!! ahahahahaa…seriously, I still have it. Winning!

    • burton1976

Why do you want an LTE version? LTE is downright pathetic compared to WiMax at this point…who cares if lab speeds and theoretical max speeds are better, real life doesn’t even differ much at all. VZW looks like a monkey f***ing a football with their LTE implementation. Spotty coverage at best that mimics Sprint’s outlay, only 33 markets launched to Sprint’s 75+, no Mac support for months after launch, a delayed EVO in a newer shell (read: Thunderbolt). Only ONE handset, and several others slated to be destroyed in the spec war by Sprint phones…So again, why would you want LTE?

  • Anonymous

could i swap my Evo 4g for it for free?

    • Cer

Of course! What a silly question.

  • Cer

Nexus S 4G or EVO 3D? That is the question.

  • Geoff

I went on the Best Buy website and I cant find where the pre orders are. I dont even want to preorder it I just want to know when the phone comes out! I know its only been a few hours since it was announced but I am sick of the way phone manufacturers and providers wait until two days before the release date to even announce when it will be released (Thunderbolt…). All I want is a date to look forward to and some time to look forward to that date…unless it comes out 2 days from now then by all means…

” but it’s a bit thicker and heavier due to the new radios for CDMA and 4G WiMAX.”

So does anyone know if the Nexus S 4g CDMA version is thicker because RETAINS the GSM radio? or is the CDMA radio just larger than a GSM radio…….I don’t know much about the hardware….

I’m so desperate for a high end Android phone thats world capable, I might just explode. Right now my choices are TouchPro2 (introduced 2009!) or Blackberry 9650 (nice phone but I want to ditch Blackberry) OR I can hang onto what I have for another year and head to ATT or Verizon(assuming they would have better world phone choices now that they own TMobile) neither of which I want to do. I have loved sprint for the last 10 years….

Please sprint, give us occasional internationals a killer phone! You can have your silly 3D! I want a quad-band!

  • Anon E Mouse

Will they swap out my current Nexus S’s crap antenna for WiMax? I’d pay $10 for that.

  • Securitywiz

That’s nice and all but what about the EVO 3D

  • Obrienmd

Errr… What? Vzn LTE speeds are ridiculous, we’re seeing 30/5 on our USB stick 30 miles south of Seattle. Sprint WiMax is capped at 1 up, rarely gets above 5 down, and can’t penetrate buildings.

Has anyone gotten telesales to preorder this phone for them? I just called and they had no idea what I was talking about. Finally they figured out which phone it was and then said they didn’t know about any preorders.
