BlackBerry 4G PlayBook goes live on Sprint website; launches this summer

Tablets

Following our exclusive report from this past Friday, Sprint has added preliminary information surrounding the BlackBerry 4G PlayBook to its website. A WiMAX-enabled version of the BlackBerry PlayBook will be among several devices shown off by Sprint at this year’s CTIA Wireless conference, which kicks off on Tuesday. Sprint announced earlier that it would launch a 4G version of RIM’s first tablet, and this is the first time the device has appeared on the carrier’s website. Interested subscribers can enter their email address to be notified when more information surrounding the tablet becomes available, but we’re hoping additional details are provided at Sprint’s CTIA press event tomorrow, which BGR will be covering live.

Thanks, Christopher

I’m tempted to wait for the Sprint version over the WiFi. Damn decisions!!!

You should wait for Verizon to buy Sprint.

Right on the same schedule they announced back in November. Q1 launch for wifi only. Early summer for Sprint. What’s changed?

Apple took a year to introduce 3G on their phones.

Just so we’re clear, the PlayBook was “announced” 6+ months ago, yet we still do not have a firm release date or pricing. Great job, RIM.

A perfect device for Charlie Brown Rimjob. Too small to be useful too big to be portable. Just like Charlie Brown. The exact wrong specifications with 10″ of border on a 2″ screen. They won’t sell 100k of these all year.

    • Shadowblade1138

Stop hating on Charlie Brown, douchebag.

I agree with your assessment, though, except for the number that will be sold.

    • Bobdonhim

And the iPad is too big to be useful AND too big to be portable…what’s your point?

      • Max

Too big to be useful? So your home pc is too big to be useful by your comment. Your refrigerator is too big to be useful. Your waistband..yeah, I’ll give you that. It’s probably way to big to be useful.

Wow, I was one of those people ready and waiting to purchase a PlayBook. Now I really don’t care. I bet the wi-fi only version will be 2 months later than this POS.
