HTC designers talk up Verizon ThunderBolt [video]

mobile

It’s rare that we get a glimpse into the thoughts and processes it takes to make a smartphone like the HTC ThunderBolt, which launched on Verizon Wireless as its first 4G LTE device yesterday, but HTC has posted a great 4-minute video where some HTC designers and employees discuss the ThunderBolt, the Sense UI, and what excites them about both. The clip doesn’t necessarily share anything new about the ThunderBolt, but we did enjoy checking out the HTC designer sketchbooks at the 0:27 mark and listening to HTC Sense UI designer Drew Bamford talk about the challenges of creating a product that appeals to the masses. If you want more ThunderBolt action, be sure to check out our unboxing, too — video after the jump.

not good. why did you guys have to ruin android with your custom UI.. make it an addon people install from the market if they like it. or put an option in settings that opts user out of it back to stock experience on everything, visuals and interaction wise.

One thing I don’t understand is; Why are they (some of them at least) using Macs? Macs are horrible computers as witnessed by the Goofan (aka Apple Hater) Nation! Everyone on this site and other sites where we congregate agree with me that Macs are NOT REAL computers. So, that said, I reiterate my question: Why are some of these HTC people using Macs? Instead of say, an Android tablet? An Android tablet is a lot more powerful. Could they be traitors and infiltrators??? I am confused. Please help me out here fellow Goofans (aka Apple Haters!) TimmyBoy, PAPITO, Norm, ZAPATITO??? C’mon guys, please explain!

I think Engadget podcast summed it up: This is yet another updated HD2 spec with a 4g radio.

BGR headline – “HTC designers talk up Verizon Thunderbolt”

Engadget headline – “HTC talks up its Thunderbolt in four minutes of self-congratulatory oratory”

Hmmm, which one is more professional? Or, better yet, which contains less douchery?

It’s about the norm for Engadget headlines, which have tamed over the years after merging with AOL… Anyway, the videos stink on their own, regardless of headlines ;)
