Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Shadow Vanguard for iOS now available

Gaming

We used to love the Tom Clancy PC titles growing up. Sitting at our computer, bag of Doritos, fingers moving effortlessly across the WSAD keys, eyeing the screen, and tapping our mouse to fire off perfectly executed head shots. Now, that’s possible on your iPhone. Tom Clancy’s Rainbox Six Shadow Vanguard from Gameloft is now available in the iTunes App Store for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Like the classic Rainbow Six games, your job is to lead a Rainbow Unit through 11 different missions as you work to rid the world of terrorists. You’ll start the game with Operation: Steel Wind where your goal is to take out a terrorist organization called “Free Europe” which has taken over the Belgian Embassy in London. Like other Rainbow Six titles, you’ll have access to a tactical map, but you can’t plan a route ahead of time. We usually prefer solo first person shooters, but we have to admit we had fun managing our team and telling them to take cover, fire on enemies, or lob grenades.  Controls were easy and the graphics looked pretty stellar. We haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but there’s also multiplayer support where you can frag with up to ten other players, or go through the campaign with a friend in co-op mode. Rainbow Six Shadow Vanguard is available now in the iTunes App Store for  $6.99.

.99 is about the most I’d pay.

I agree. I would go as high as $2.99, but that’s it. I do think that EA Games such as Madden and FIFA are worth the price.

lol, I guess this is the final destination for the nerfing of the game.

From a mouse, to a much slower control stick, and now finally this.

Aside from the steadily declining control schemes, I’m guessing it doesn’t also feature the one hit and you’re dead dynamic that Rainbow 6: Rogue Spear did.

It’s nice that FPS’s have caught on, too bad about the skill level.
