HTC Arrive hands-on!

mobile

The HTC Arrive… has arrived. Sprint’s first Windows Phone 7 device is a rebranded version of the HTC 7 Pro, a QWERTY-equipped phone that is definitely among the nicer smartphones made available when Microsoft’s new mobile platform officially launched last year. Sprint is the first U.S. carrier to pick up the 7Pro and it will also be the first CDMA carrier in the world to launch a Windows Phone 7 device when the Arrive is made available to subscribers this Sunday, March 20th. Was it worth the wait? Check out our HTC Arrive gallery below and sit tight while we put this sleek smartphone through its paces for the complete review.

Needs a landscape homescreen desperately.. WP7 is pretty snappy once that and a few more issues are addressed I may consider it..

No other OS including iOS and Android have lanscaped homescreens. So what’s the fuss about?

Looks nice. Would like to see it with the screen turned on, though.

I swear, HTC’s devices just keep getting sexier. While I’m not crazy about the bulk of landscape QWERTY phones, all is forgiven by the awesome unibody design. Wish my HTC MyTouch 4G looked as sophisticated…

Ya that looks nothing like a Nokia n97.

    ……sigh….

The real difference is this one may actually work. My N97 finished me with Nokia for good. They fell HARD from a spot of renown to one of craptastic rather quickly. Symbian was a huge part of that fall.

I hate how they slap name brands all over these phones! HTC here, Sprint there, HTC on the back, “Winodws Phone” also…I mean seriously? They take this sexy piece of hardware and just cover it in logos and branding…Awful!

      But what if you forget?

I also think it’s hilarious when manufacturers put the megapixels right next to the camera, or have a comically large label for the HDMI port.

Use the back of the box, not the back of the device, for your bullet points.

    DOA.

    i love the keyboard.

I’ve been using Android for more than a year and I realized that what I need from a smartphone are a terrific native calendar (which Android doesn’t have) with cloud synchronization, full office app, good messaging and word puzzle games… and a nice keyboard. WinMo7 seems to ve offering this, so does BlackBerry.
