Apple and Verizon remove the word AT&T from the Verizon iPhone?

mobile

After using the Verizon iPhone for a few weeks, something finally hit me. I have had an AT&T iPhone since the original launched, and was accustomed to typing “att” and getting a suggestion from autotext for “AT&T”. Except, this does not work on the Verizon iPhone. It’s funny because the word “Verizon” is in the AT&T iPhone’s autotext dictionary. Anyone else finding the same thing out there?

I’m far from a fan of VZW, but guess what who cares? You can inside of a second, can add it to the dictionary.

I have a Verizon iPhone and from day one it has autocorrected “att” to “AT&T.” However, when I type “Att” as the first word, it changes it to “Art.”

Sounds like something Verizon would do.

This is turning more into a blog site than a news site

They are ALL blog sites. Granted they get some good info and scoops, but always and forever will be tech-rumor blogs.

I thought auto-correct dictionaries, as far as proper names go, ‘learned’ them from the user. so once you type ‘At&t’ once, it will then be added to the dictionary from that point forward? Maybe I’m being naive, but I don’t exactly expect an auto-correct dictionary to know the name of every major corporation and company that exists on the planet. Try typing Gerber, Cisco, etc and see if it gets auto-corrected. Also, does it autocorrect ‘apple’ to ‘Apple’?

This is an extremely silly blog.

Wow – here are a few more hot tips for you Mr. Geller: If you send a FedEx package to UPS headquarters it will be rejected. Drinking Coca-Cola in the Pepsi Co. dining room is frowned upon. Industry competitors don’t like each other.

The one thing that Verizon could control about its version of the iPhone! :-)

Lets be honest. If people are too lazy to type AT&T, then maybe the smartphone is not what you seek… Perhaps you would enjoy use of a tablet or netbook instead. LOL

it will auto correct if there is a word in front of att – example: “the att” will auto populate “the AT&T”
