Apple Online Store lists iPad 2 with 2-3 week shipping delay

The early bird gets the worm. If you didn’t rouse yourself at 4:00 a.m. EST to order an iPad 2 online, you’re going to have a little bit of a wait on your hands. Apple’s online store has now placed a 2-3 week shipping lag on all iPad 2 models and colors. If you absolutely must have the tablet before then, you may want to come up with a retail strategy. The iPad 2 will be available beginning at 5:00 p.m. EST this evening at a host of retailers across the States. If you plan on venturing out for a retail iPad 2 purchase, good luck.

    Maybe they’re putting in a REAL Front Facing Camera; you know, one that actually meets the specification of 1 whole MegaPixel? Just sayin’, if I wanted a VGA camera I’d go back to my XV6600 or my LG VX6000….

        Sorry heyhey, Android phones have the smarts to determine if the user is intellectually capable of handling them. If the OS determines that the individual isn’t intellectually capable, then the phone will lag so the user returns the phone. At that point the phone can go with another, more capable, individual and both will be happy. That’s the power of Google and their insight!

    I checked when I woke up and it was 5-7 days. They must have sold all 200 of them soon after, demand is obviously at least 2x more than the Xoom.

      2x more? Try more like 20x more, if not more. This has nothing to do with the quality or superiority of either tablet, demand for the iPad 2 is clearly astronomically higher than that of the XOOM regardless of whether that demand is justified.

    We are clearly being manipulated in order to boost lines and media attention to the circus that will occur at all selling outlets at %00PM and over the weekend when more people are available to line up. This occurred due to no pre-ordering allowed on line and now having to wait 2 to 3 weeks if ordered on line unless you woke up at 1AM. Watch and see, wifi units will be in short supply at stores and Apple, Verizon and ATT try and push people to get the 3G version for additional profit margins and monthly data fees. Please tell me how I am wrong with this assessment
