Samsung teases new tablet set for CTIA unveiling

Tablets

Samsung on Wednesday posted a new flyer to its Facebook page that hints at a new tablet the company plans to unveil at CTIA. The device in question will be the third addition to Samsung’s Galaxy Tab lineup, though it’s hard to call it third when the second Galaxy tablet — the Galaxy Tab 10.1 — still hasn’t seen the light of day. The new slate is expected to sport an 8.9-inch display, positioning it between the 7-inch Galaxy Tab and the 10-inch Galaxy Tab 10.1. The device may be named “Galaxy Tab 8.9,” though the moniker has not yet been confirmed. Samsung will be holding a press conference at CTIA on March 22nd where this new tablet and several other devices are expected to be unveiled. BGR will be covering the event live to report news as it breaks.

WTF? Samsung needs to get their act together. This is turning into the “throw enough @#%t at at the wall and see what sticks” Circus.

      Really? Two honeycomb tablets?
Sorry they aren’t Apple–one size fits all.

True, they’re more like Archos – Flood the market with KIRFs of all sizes. And continue to fail.

” Flood the market with KIRFs of all sizes. And continue to fail.”

        Wow so close minded

YES! More choice and competition which is good for the consumer!

You know it boss. By the end of March I will own about 10 different tablets. I will sell some of them on eBay, but without a doubt I will have a different one every day of the week. Ah! The power of free, freedom and openness. I hope Google continues to fund all these manufacturers so they don’t have to worry about making money and continue to build products for us.

Yeah, this doesn’t build confidence in buying a Samsung tablet (or phone for that matter). The 10.1 isn’t even out yet and it’s already old news. Lord.

Yeah, like MBP 13″ made MBP 15″ outdated in not time

I’ll laugh hard if this is thinner than the iPad 2. . . then Steve has no specs to crow about and “specs don’t matter” will really become is mantra.

The only spec that matters is Android. The most powerful OS ever devised by mankind. There are more powerful OS’s but those have been created by aliens in other planets much more advanced.

If its as good as their phones, the competition has nothing to worry about. They make good TV’s though…

Samsung peddling more of their garbage….

Good to see Samsung developing the next product consumers will ignore. I’m sure they can achieve even higher levels of consumer apathy with this next tablet, which no doubt will feature “smooth” sell through and a huge amount of channel stuffing.

That’s awesome! Now I can sell my XOOM and Galaxy Tab in eBay and get this new tablet and then 2 weeks later get the next Android tablet. So for us Goofans (aka Apple Haters) it’s Christmas every 2 weeks. It’s good to be a Goofan (aka Apple Hater!)

      I know. Isn’t having a choice such a drag?

    • Anonymous

That’s what stupid Apple fans would think. Normal people understand that different people may prefer different tablet sizes. Yeas, there will be Android tablets in different screen sizes and factors. That’s a good thing. In the mean time, Apple fans are busy discussing the best ways to get rid of their iPad 1s.

Now if Samsung can only price this under $500 we should have a real fight on our hands. How about $449 for the wi-fi to undercut Apple? See more at http://GalaxyTabForum.com
