iOS 4.3 to be released at 10AM today; personal hotspot supports 5 connections?

Exclusive

One of our sources has just let us know something pretty interesting. There has been a lot of talk surrounding Apple’s personal hotspot feature, specifically it’s capability of only supporting 3 wireless connections (as opposed to 5 like many other devices). Well, we have been told it’s all left to the carrier to decide. If a carrier requests it, five devices will be supported, but by default, it’s three.

Oh, and we’ve also been told iOS 4.3 will be available for download publicly at 10AM PT today. Fire up iTunes and get your update trigger-finger ready!

BGR also reported that the iPad 2 would be button-less (which is ridiculous to even think of). This is just another fail.

You guys need to WAKE UP! You’re wrong, and this was just a piece of useless LINK BAIT. Go back and stick with your RIM Playbook stories.

I find it funny that the hotspot feature is being pushed HARD these days. Not just with IOS, I mean within the last year or so. Don’t get me wrong… nice feature but if you look beyond the forest but for the trees you can see that it was a carefully crafted move. Purely a financial boon for them all. First, your data is capped, then your rate plans restructured (upward of course) and finally… give them so many ways to connect their WiFi devices that they’ll undoubtedly be hitting their limits and yes :) paying, at minimum an overage fee. Cha-ching… kinda sweet if I don’t say myself.
