Verizon Wireless to carry iPad 2 at launch

While no formal announcement has been made, Verizon Wireless has updated its website to reflect the fact that it will begin selling Apple’s new iPad 2 on launch day, March 11th. Details surrounding the launch have not been clarified, but Verizon Wireless is expected to begin selling the highly anticipated iOS tablet at 5:00PM local time on launch day, in line with other retailers that will offer the iPad 2. Verizon will sell a 3G-enabled version of the tablet that is compatible with its EV-DO network, and pricing will start at $629 for the 16GB model.

      Went in today and they had about ten staff on. I was like wtf?, usually have to fight someone for attention. On a side note, I did hear a Guy get rejected for trying to get a free iPhone as a two year upgrade. Hahaha.

      Just think about this 1 iPhone a year But many android phones a year. Now thing the sales for that one iPhone over passes all the devices with android together :P

    Yeah but didn’t Apple say it was going to be launch on both carriers at the 11th?
    I’ll be picking up 3 GSM models and they will be sold on eBay to someone over seas. I want one but I won’t be paying out of my pocket for one lol.

    Not camping out but I might be getting an ipad 2. Never had a tablet before but I have been researching the best apps for ipad and there are some awesome apps that I could really use. Thats without iMovie and Garage Band too.

      Because Verizon does not carry a 3G iPad, as the iPad 1 does not natively work with Verizon’s data network.

      The only sad thing is that XOOM and ATRIX et al may not be around for long. I know that we all feel that the competition is between Apple and the Android Army, but I don’t think that is the case. Motorola is NOT competing primarily against Apple, they are competing primarily against OTHER Android vendors.

        I agree with you, soon Apple will be out of the picture; at least until they soup-up’ their mAxiPad.
        Do think, however, XOOOOOM is good for at least a good solid year to year and a half, maybe even longer. I’ve tested it; verified that there’s no Motoblur (at least full-blown Motoblur; there are no Motorola apps’ pre-installed (except 1 app’ that is saved on the bootloader but is not instaled); Honeycomb 100%; just want a more definitive answer on the software update that will enable microSD functionality.

        You have a very unrealistic view of the technology sector. Lol. You were one that said iPad wasn’t going to be successful … look at it now. You ate saying they will be a non-player. I beg to differ. The Xoom isn’t going to do as well now that the iPad 2 is on the scene. The general population as a whole is not going to care about camera specs. What they will care about is that iPad 2 is fast, a hell of a lot thinner than the xoom, has better battery life, lighter, runs a lot more tablet specific apps, and looks very appealing with it’s smartcover. Yes … to a mostly non techy population, appearance and experience mean a lot more than raw specs. I’m surprised you haven’t noticed this being a senile old geezer mad at anything not android.

    I want an ipad strictly for the music making apps I love android os & have an android phone but the music making apps suck bad there isn’t a single app comparable to nanostudio or beatmaker 2 in honeycomb or I would get a xoom
