Sam’s Club to sell Wi-Fi XOOM for $539?

Tablets

The latest, cost-effective rumor surrounding the Wi-Fi Motorola XOOM is sure to pique the interest of the few penny-pinching readers. Blog Droid-Life is reporting that Sam’s Club (of all places) will be selling the Wi-Fi XOOM for a cool $539. This undercuts the $599 price tag Motorola Mobility’s CEO, Sanjay Jha, slapped on the device just two weeks ago. A 10.1-inch Honeycomb tablet with 32GB of storage, and host of other high-end features, sounds pretty good to us – especially at $539. Thoughts?

I have a confession to make. I am actually a huge fanboy just on here trying to stir the kettle. I am sorry for everything I said about apple. I was just trying to stir conversation. DROID SUCKS!!!!

Supply and demand. They are running out of D&D fans to sell this thing too, so like the Galaxy failure they must mark it down and target their core audience.

Now a few more 15 year old robot fans can buy one. Motorola might just sell 10,000!

Well that’s just ill-spirited. There’s no place for that on the internet.

      • Honeycomb = priceless

That “The Gnome” — A true iFan all the way. . . it just can’t help itself, spewing its ill natured attitude everywhere. One would think it would stick to reading pro Apple articles, but obviously it’s a nasty little thing.

  • Matt

  • Trent_mbs

    XOOM FTW

  • zps

i think i could be in at that price.

Costco has been selling them for $560 since launch… surprised Sam’s hasn’t already matched or beat them.

    • Petey

Really? Didn’t know Costco carries The xoom. Going check it out.

  • Bakedisk

yeah, now all some of us have to do is drop something like $150 on a Sam’s Club membership to get $60 off this tablet that will get dropped from Google’s favor in a quarter year.

  • dwinsmith

Lemme guess with 4GB memory card instead.

  • Dcthien

    i don’t see the new price, it’s still 599

  • fr3dd0

on one hand , i like the cheaper price, but on the other hand why do they have to cheap sell and cut the little profit out of the tablet that there was? is the tablet user really going to be affected by the $60 dollar difference? as a business person, it is little things like this that make things tight. a company like sams or walmart cheap sell these things to get people to come into their store, while the electronics retailers get poked.

    • fr3dd0

this just came out. no need to cut the price yet…

Penny pinching?! I think you have lost what the Android stands for. Freedom and price.

Nooooo! That means it joins my tablet thoughts that are already iPad2 vs Playbook!

  • Ikeysee

That is a price point that can mainstream this device. I bought it day one off contract wondering how long I would keep it. Now more people will be exposed to this top notch device. It will popularize and maintain relevance in the monolithic shadow of the ipad

    Hell yeah. Come to Costco!

  • http://twitter.com/khanam Amir Khan

ah! now thats a price i wanted to see!

  • Tinky_30

With only 12 apps available for it, the Xoom should be retailing for $53.90 not $539…………
