T-Mobile to eliminate FlexPay plans

Exclusive

We don’t have too much information to share on this one, but here’s the meat of it: T-Mobile USA is going to be getting rid of its FlexPay plans. Our tipster said that T-Mobile should soon announce, or at least communicate internally what, if anything, will replace the FlexPay option for customers.

Thanks, justfinethankyou!

    And what is FlexPay?

    • Anonymous

All you word get with a contract without the Contract lol

It’s a way to obtain a service plan without paying a “deposit”.

Plans can either be contracted (if credit approved) or no-contract – you just have to pay your 1st month’s bill up front. When you run out of your bucket of minutes – you can no longer make phone calls; basically making it impossible for you to rack up a huge bill.

haha good its a pain in the ass for us reps who try to guess the first payment during activation.

    Welcome to last week.

Flexpay customers will be migrated to postpaid.

does this mean it is a change in the TOS, so you can deactivate without ETF?

        I sure hope so

      • Anonymous

No it doesn’t have any change in the Terms Of Service.

I don’t think Flexpay has ETF does it? should be contract free. just cancel whenever you want.

      • Lechero

And this is a “myth” lol Love my FlexPay and would they eliminate the data only plan too?

  • TMO407

Come March 12th T-Mobile will eliminate the Flexpay plans. Aka the N and M class credit and replace with deposits based on a $50, $100, $200 systems. Not sure if they are going to migrate the existing Flexpay customers. I can’t wait, no more activating and having to guess the first months bill or prepaying for features.

actually most people i activated on flexpay were poor white trash, and drug dealers that had shitty credit and wanted something to use till it got shut off. so glad we dont do tmobile anymore.

It’s about time, they have been getting screwed for a long time with dead beat customers. I want T-Mobile to stick around forever. I get great service, lightening fast speeds (5500 DL & 1500 UL) and the best rates ($) out of any US carrier. If customers from other carriers only knew just how solid T-Mobile service is they would jump ship.
    Thanks T-Mobile

Flexpay is a payment option only. Its for customers with less than perfect credit.

What it entails is: (available with Even More or Even More Plus plans) Even More Plans require a credit check
    1. No Deposit
    2. First Months Bill Payed in Advance
    3. No Activations Fee
    4. $4.99 Control Charge (per line)
    5. $5 in a FlexAccount (for additional services)

less than perfect credit .. and people with no credit ( AKA no Social Security Number :) ) I’ve been on a flexpay plan now for around 3 years, its awesome. As a Canadian who travels into the US a lot I was burning Pay as you Go cards like crazy, with the flexpay I can have the advantages of a monthly plan without paying an insane deposit ( I tried going to ATT first they wanted me to sign a 1yr contract and pay a 1000$ deposit for just the darn SIM Card! ). Hopefully Tmobile leaves this one alone, the other real nice benefit is you cannot rack up insane bills on the Flexpay, if they change it I am concerned that all the sudden insane bills will come.. then all the people with crap credit etc that you all are talkin about in this thread will be defaulting on their bills, bad scene

Yes, it’s also a way to say ‘I can’t affoooord it, cuz’ I am on da’ welfare!’
Actually, the most interesting part of this piece is that Sandy S. Schwartz, a Contract Lawyer in Manhattan, aka Watbetchh, has crawled out of her cave.

    Hey, Sandy!!

  • Arinaldi3

its for people with bad credit that need a deposit anywhere else. Pay first month bill upfront

So does that mean all those illegal Mexicans ( you know the ones about the size of a hobbit, riding walmart mongoose’s on the side of the highway) won’t have phone service now?
Maybe one of their 15 roommates will have tracfone or net10 (or 2 soup cans and a piece of string).

  • opiapr

A lot of racy comments here is anyone at BGR monitoring this or is this your same views.

  • the MBkid

This is a really good thing all!

Flexpay customers have many disadvantages that will cured by this. It will be more like a Sprint deposit and then you get your bill later (end of month not up front every month)

You won’t have to worry about adding lines. Right now if you have a flexpay account and add a line in the middle of your billing cycle you will have to pay the entire coming month for BOTH phones (then get a credit for what’s already been paid on the first phone for that month later). Who needs their extra money sitting there up front?

You will know how much you owe up front BEFORE you go to the register to do it!

    And many more advantages.
