Samsung readying 8.9-inch Android tablet for first half of 2011?

Tablets

According to Korean based Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics is readying an 8.9-inch Android tablet due in the first half of 2011. The publications cites Samsung as the source of the information and adds that a “company spokesperson” indicated that the 8.9-inch tablet “will be released in the global market through mobile operators.” Samsung currently offers a 7-inch tablet, the Galaxy Tab, and is scheduled to release a 10.1-inch tablet later this year. What do you say Goldilocks? Is 8.9-inches just right?

So we’ve got a 7-inch Galaxy Tab, with a 10.1-inch model announced and now possibly an 8.9-inch model. Yet still no street date for the wi-fi only version of any of them.

Samsung doesn’t have a clue of what it’s doing.

Agreed. Consumers like anticipation, not guessing games. When a product is announced it should have a clear roadmap ahead of it for updates, refreshes, etc

and a planned wifi version in Q1. no date so what. if they had given a date you’d be on here complaining it was late. at least it’s not a rumor

      Man, do you sleep?
I know you never respond to anyone, but geez!
I like to look at your Disqus profile to see if you ever do anything but trash on android or talk about how much money Apple makes.
Also, you are trolling DroidLife now? I think you should change your handle from perspectively to persistently

        (Skewed) Perspectively.
His/her constant Apple trumpet blowing on Android articles is to be expected and is best ignored.

Lol. We keep getting the original in at work and they are just gonna pile up. We were -1 last month because it was a return from December.

Another joke of a screen size. Too big to be a phone; too small to be a tablet. Read this article about how consumers feel about the inferior screen on the Galaxy Tab. If it’s smaller than the iPad, then it needs to be priced lower than the iPad. Period.
6 to 1 thought the iPad should be more expensive than the TabSoda because of screen size and build quality (regardless of 2 cameras, faster processor, SD card, Adobe Flash, etc.)
Google search “for what it’s worth ipads vs galaxy perceived value” (BGR won’t let me post links).

The bad news: It will run Android 2.1 and Samsung will refuse to provide updates…

Include a 1280×800 super amoled plus with 6000 + mAh battery and it’ll be just right.
