Apple sends invites for March 2nd media event; iPad 2 en route

Breaking

It looks like Apple has begun sending out press invites to a March 2nd media event to be held in California. The event, scheduled for 10:00AM PT, should be the official outing of the company’s oft rumored iPad 2. The invitation simply taunts its recipients to “come see what 2011 will be the year of.” Analysts are calling for a new, buttonless iPad with front and rear facing cameras along with a larger screen. Will the rumors hold water? We’ll soon find out.

I won’t even consider upgrading my iPad unless and until Apple clarifies whether Kindle, Netflix, Rdio, etc. will be available going forward. Which means I won’t be considering an iPad 2. And no, the alleged email about SaaS does not answer that question.

“Analysts are calling for a new, buttonless iPad…”
Analysts can call for whatever they want, but the picture in the invitation has buttons on the device. So, no. Sorry, “analysts”, you don’t get what you want.

The picture is of the current iPad. No one knows exactly what the iPad 2 looks like.

Damn you and your logic lol
Yeah, that’s probably right. I hereby retract my previous snark.

Just an observation, I noticed the rain, dew on the iPad picture. I remember when the retina display was introduced it was a similar wallpaper.

There will be great disappointments on this event as far as the ipad is concerned. The only changes for the ipad2 is that it will be lighter and thinner, and that it will come with rear and front facing cameras. The main subject for this event would be the MacBooks.

That’s why the iPad is shown being revealed in the invite.
