Sony Ericsson announces Xperia Neo

Sony Ericsson, just moments ago at their press event in Barcelona just announced their newest Android device, the Xperia Neo. It features HD video, HDMI out, Sony’s mobile Bravia engine, a 8 megapixel camera and front-facing camera. It has a 4-inch, 854×480 resolution display and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU in addition to running Gingerbread 2.3

    Sony’s approach to software updates is having the customer buy an entire new phone. Guess this one will be stuck at 2.3 like the x10 is stuck at 1.6

      The x10 was heavily skinned though, right? Maybe these will be vanilla – in which case I’m very interested.

    That is why you root the damn thing and run what you want. I have a Nexus One and the MyTouch 4G, both are rooted and running the most up to date roms. If you choose to stay at the stock running rom that is your problem. Android is the only platform that you can run any rom you choose.
