Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is official

Breaking

Another leaked Samsung device over the weekend just became official (Samsung’s MWC event is just getting underway) — the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Why oh why is the name of the device the Tab 10.1, you might ask? That’s because the Tab 10.1 is the big boy in Samsung’s tablet lineup and featured a 10.1-inch display. It’s available in 16GB and 32GB storage varieties and is powered by a dual-core Tegra 2 processor. You’ll find a front-facing camera in addition to a 8 megapixel shooter on the back, and as far as weight is concerned, the Tab 10.1 comes in at around 1.2 pounds compared to the iPad and Xoom’s 1.5 pounds.

If the Galaxy Tab was about $600, I wonder how much the 10.1 will be…………..

Was about $600 with a 2 year contract… Since this one has 2 versions 16 and 32gb then hopefully they can come in at a respectable price

I doubt it since they revamped it, it will most likely cost 700 for the 16GB and 750-800 for the 32GB. I wish these tablets will come with more memory 32Gb just doesn’t cut it anymore (more so for their prices).

When you get up to that price……MB Air is starting to look good…….

It will be worth every penny. DROID is incredible like that. I can’t wait to get this. It will be a great compliment to my DROID Xoom 4G LTE and Galaxy DROID Tab 1.

Yeah how’s the battery life on that 10.1? The other Tab came in at about 60% of the iPad’s battery life.

Not sure if Honeycomb carries over the tweaks of gingerbread, but the management of background services is way more aggressive. The battery life on my Incredible almost tripled with gingerbread. I went from around 100mb of RAM free, to around 300mb of RAM free.
Also I like how you were able to troll your way into that one. Quote about camera, Quote about weight…. “Yeah but the battery……”
You are such a tool, but hey, You are just priceless.

While the Tab might be ok for some, I’d rather have the BlackBerry PlayBook. For business, I don’t want to carry something as big and heavy as a 1+ pound device. It may not seem that heavy to some people; but when you’re standing at a customer’s site and have to use it for prolonged periods of time for work related tasks, it gets heavy. The PlayBook at 400g, is much better.

I´m wondering how anyone could look taking pictures out there with this big slate.

This one, Xoom and Toshiba Tab will be great competitors to current iPads. Let´s see what Apple will offer with iPad 2. I’d like to see all of them before making any decision.

“I´m wondering how anyone could look taking pictures out there with this big slate.” – People said this about holding what looks like a calculator up to your face and talking into it, too. Luckily, some people aren’t as constrained by the fear that others will arbitrarily judge them.

It’s made by Samsung so I’m gonna pass. I have yet to own a Samsung product I was happy with including the Captivate.

Samsung sucks and Captivate will be the last Samsung product I ever buy
I can’t deal with companies that make promises and fail to deliver.

They need to stop releasing 3G versions before the WiFi one, the price is too high

Like I said over on engadget… I would put it in their butts.

Way Way too early to care about price. I’m not buying until I see some mileage reports on all of these babies. Really do I need to have a tab? No, I am still using my “smart-phone” and laptop and haven’t faded into the abyss.Seven-800 is not worth the risk. Easy does it and let em come to you. Patience will reward. June 1.
