AT&T selling iPad accessories for 50% off, iPad 2 coming soon?

We have received a couple tips that AT&T corporate stores will start selling all Apple iPad accessories for 50% off beginning February 13th. Our tipsters note that AT&T usually doesn’t clearance items unless a replacement is imminent.

        I had both and Verizon for 15 years now AT&T and AT&T is a 1000 times better without no doubt

        I had Verizon for 10 years and now am with AT&T and I am sorry that I had to switch! Verizon has far better coverage!!

        Define crappy. They have the largest and most reliable voice and data network in the country and will have LTE phones on the market several months before AT&T.

        I’m on Verizon, but if had a good choice would switch in a heartbeat. I despise their practice of locking down all their phones as much as possible, and trying to force you to buy from them wherever possible. I had one old razor that I could not even sync the calender with my computer! They even are (still?) trying to build their own Android store. The list goes on. This could never happen if they had real competition, but cell towers are so expensive to build they really have very little competition.

        AT&T will have two versions of 4G HSPA+ and LTE running side by side. Verizon’s LTE will start at 10 mbps and AT&T’s HSPA+ will start with 14.4 mbps. I would know about Verizon I had them for 15 years and I couldn’t stand the dropped calls ,dead spots and extremely slow data. Not to mention they are expensive. I can’t be happier with AT&T. fast data NO dropped calls. With AT&T I get rollover min ,mobile to any mobile ,family map. unlimited text pic message four data plans three are iphones. Verizon I had two data plans ,unlimited text and I now pay with AT&T $50 less

        Crappy is when a carrier refuses to prorate the early termination fee for a long-time, loyal customer less than two months before the expiration of the contract—even though they will gladly prorate this fee for new customers. That’s how Verizon handled my request for early termination when the first iPhone came out. I switched anyway and paid Verizon exactly nothing.

      Good Idea! Why don’t you go buy a ton of iPhone supplies then try selling them to people with Verizon iPhones, I’m sure that will work out well for you.

    I am actually looking forward to the release of the ipad 2. I hope its priced, so it forces Moto/vz to drop the Xoom pricing. Than I will go pick up my Xoom tablet.

      Unless Motorola pre-paid $4 billion to secure a stock of LCD supplies, there’s no way they’re going to be able to lower their price unless they want to take a loss on each one they sell. Sorry.

      The HP Touchpad is $100 cheaper than the cheapest ipad, so it is indeed already cheaper than the ipad. But I think your whole HP Touchpad experience would be maximized if you also get their Pre3. Those two work so well with each other.

    I work at an at&t store and we hardly sell any iPads. and the few iPads we do sell rarely purchase any accessories. I think its just a way to sell through the inventory on cases that aren’t selling.

    an iPad 2 is inevitable though… and I imagine it’ll be around soon enough.

      A lot of the i-whatever accessory businesses (that only do i-stuff) are going to be going out of business by the end of the year because of all the new products from other companies. I think you’re right, AT&T is just trying to get rid of the stuff while they still can.

        Thank you. I think the fandroids don’t realize that there is only one iPhone against a market completely saturated with android handsets. The importance? If there was one android phone, we’d see a competely different market. The xoom looks nice and all, but let’s see just how well it will hold up against iPad. Hopefully, the numbers will help some of these folks hush it lol. Not to mention touchpad? I already have one of those, on my wife’s laptop. What’s a playbook? Lol.

        You would never see one Android phone as their market because it is a moronic business model longterm. Phones are not one size fits all. People want choice of hardware, form-factor, pricepoint, carrier etc…Hence the reason Android just overtook Symbian to become the most popular OS in the world. And if Apple wants to continue their one phone market than they better ease up on the greed and finally bring the various features it lacks that all of its competition offer in their products. You can’t keep giving incremental upgrades that are outdating their new realeases soemtimes by competing products released months prior.

        Don’t you see that the Android phones differ so minutely? Such a baseless argument, who cares if a phone has a mini-HDMI out, or that it never receives updates? I am so tired of the “Fandroids”, they make such a big deal out of crap like copy-and-paste, or the $20 mobile hotspot- they suffer from the same, if not worse, problems that the iPhone, or others, face. Fact is, Android 3.0 is lame, and I highly doubt that any other tablet will see the numbers iPad has. That is just the cold hard truth.

        I have one, I may not be an Apple drone like you but I’ll enjoy the more convent size, Flash 10.1, microSD, dual cameras, not 1 but 2 cameras, removable battery, multitasking, several video chat clients instead of just FaceTime, several e-reader clients, 3G anywhere and not having to spend $600 on the device originally, do I need to continue? iPad 2, bringing more basic functions…

    its a win win situation for apple with the ipad 2 released the ipad would sell 100$ -$150cheaper ie. prices will start from ~$350. though feature wise ipad may lag behind the honeycomb and webos tabs the price point will make it sell like nuts……. so the people on a budget will go for the original ipad and premium customers are always have a bias for the “apple logo” and may lean for an ipad2

    I’m excited about the ipad2. I hope it offers more than what’s being said around. I do want it to be thinner and lighter, but I also want it to have a dual core processor for a smoother and stable performance. I also want its display resolution to be higher a bit for more clarity and a more crisp display. If the only improvements are that it’s just thinner and lighter, then I’d stick with my ipad1 for now.

    Folks it’s very simple. Apple can’t stand 3 things; innovation, openness and freedom. the things our lords at google love. So that said, it seems obvious to me and the goofan (aka apple hater) nation that apple is dropping out of the race for pads since they know the game is over now that the lords of freedom, openness and innovation are entering the game with honeycomb.

    Nothing but the best thing ever to happen in technology. Google will, get that?, WILL have 100% share of the market in all mobile and computer technology by this time next year. Microsoft, apple, groupon, facebook et al will all be going under… Mark my words this 13th of February 2011!!!!!

      I was in a corporate store today, Feb 14, and when I asked about any iPad accessories on sale they said no but we read about that on BGR too. They said they have received nothing internally about any iPad accessories going on sale.

    I wouldn’t read too much into this. It is possible that ATT is selling off accessories assuming that a new model with a vastly different form is coming and they don’t want to be caught with a ton of stuff on their hands.

    But they could be doing it based on zero information and a release isn’t as ‘imminent’ as the sale implies
