HTC Thunderbolt handset makes cameo in Best Buy circular

Yesterday, we told you about a tasty little rumor we’ve been hearing about a February 24th launch date for the HTC Thunderbolt. Now, it looks like the LTE handset has made a cameo in a weekly Best Buy circular — complete with pre-order instructions and the tagline “coming soon.” For a $50 deposit, BB will allow you to reserve one of the latest and greatest Android offerings from VZW. No word on when, specifically, “soon” is, but if the February 24th release date proves to be accurate… you can expect pre-orders to begin in the next week or so.

      Im pretty sure that’s referring to the buy back program. And its placed on the android ad because if you want a software upgrade you will have to get an entire new phone.

        Oh…You mean like having to buy a new iPhone to get things like…a better camera, a better screen, improved notifications, ‘multi-tasking’? And don’t give me ‘you can upgrade 3G to i/OS4′. Not without many issues; look it up.

        I don’t think I’d like waiting 3 years to get multitasking, or a grown-up notification system.

        You are right. Its hard to update a 3 year old phone to todays OS. I completely agree. Since you know most people keep their phones more than 2 -3 years. Idiot.

        But with android you can’t even put 2.2 on half of the phones that came out in 2010….that is problematic.

        …and oh yea, the Evo and I’m assuming this ‘bolt phone blows away the iphone, in soooo many ways. The Evo is pure technology, and not watered down, idiot proof yesterday’s news.

    Just pre-ordered my VZW iPhone but I am excited to see this device. I hope it does well and continues to create a good competition for makers and developers. Only the consumers can win! It can’t be any worse than the RIM Storm 2 aka POS…

    what are the specs for this phone? and what os does it have Froyo or gingerbread would be funny to have the latest and greatest phone and not have gingerbread
