Samsung’s portrait QWERTY Android phone for Sprint spied

mobile

It looks like Verizon Wireless’ Motorola DROID Pro won’t be the only device to bring the beloved BlackBerry keypad to Google’s Android platform for very long. Samsung appears to be prepping a portrait QWERTY offering of its own that places everyone’s favorite mobile keyboard beneath a touchscreen display. Details are very scare for the time being, but the presence of Sprint branding leads us to the obvious conclusion that this smartphone is headed to… Sprint. With Mobile World Congress less than two weeks away, expect an official unveiling soon. Hit the break for two more images of this upcoming Android phone.

Samsung is a great copycat. First they rip off the iOS square icons on touchwiz 3.0 and now they copy phone looks from competitors? That looks like a retarded brother of the droid pro!!
Come on samsung where’s your originality? Unless your graphics and hardware designers are all from china……

Looks like crap to match their crappy network. They’re not slowly falling down the tubes, they are launching themselves down..

i bet u either have Verizon or AT&T to say that. Personally coming from BOTH companies my self i can compare and shoot down your comments. If you are with Verizon im sorry to tell ya the Sprint roams on there network and we have similar coverage. but yet i pay about 20-30 dollars less a month for more features. If you were AT&T then my argument would be yes u have the fastest network and yes you do have a fairly large netowrk too but NO dependability, dropped data and calls heaven. and u pay about 20-30 more for identical features. NOW if you were a Tblobile customer i have no rebuttal im just going to laugh at you. either way your blinded by reality.

Sprint, you officially have THE worst phones EVER. I love Sprint but…what happened!? Ya’ll were killin’ the game a year ago and now just put out garbage. How can they expect to compete with Verizon if their phone lineup is so sub-par?

lol thank you for making my argument for me…coming out with two of the same phones :-) And then there’s the Epic, but not everyone wants a keyboard or a huge screen. I’m just asking them for a better selection & variety. And who in the world liked the Droid Pro when it came out?

I have a BB Tour and the quality of the picture makes it difficult to see if it matches up, (in quality). It would have to be pretty good to drag people away who already use QWERTY type devices…..From the looks in the picture it doesn’t. Have to wait and see when it hits the stores….

I may actually consider this…..Provided theres a Front Camera and 4G. But i understand that this is one of the Appetizer phones.

It was only a matter of time before android found its way to a blackberry form factor. Besides, the Sprint version of the Droid Pro is Nextel Branded so this evens things up…….Dont blame Sprint & Samsung…..Nor Motorola for doing what couldve kept RIM relevant 3 years ago.
