Are you pre-ordering a Verizon iPhone?

mobile

Pre-orders for the Verizon iPhone for existing customers start tomorrow at 3AM, and now that the date is rapidly approaching, we have to ask… after years and years of waiting, begging, pleading, and refusing to switch to another carrier, are you going to pull the trigger? Let us know in the poll if you’re planning on pre-ordering a Verizon iPhone, alright?

Actually, I once begged for an iPhone on Verizon. In order to pass time I bought a Droid (Original). While the cosmetics of Android are unrefined compared to iOS (surely to improve), I now realize that cosmetics are unimportant to the raw power and choice that Android possesses. Going to iOS now would be a step back. Child’s play if you will, this phone.

So, no, I will not be pre-ordering despite having an upgrade ready on Verizon.

I’m tired of people telling others what they should and shouldn’t get. I don’t care I’ve had the original Droid and now the Droid X but the main problem with Android is the updating it’s ridiculous to think that a phone you just brought won’t receive anything past what it was shipped with and yeah I know updates aren’t promised and they don’t technically have to give you anything blah blah blah but it’s no excuse. And everyone screaming Droid Bionic forgets that Motorola is strongly supporting locking up their phones and to me what’s the point of getting it if you can’t even root it? That’s mainly the reason any of us on here gets Android which is because of the openness and ability to do whatever we want to with our phones. For those screaming thunderbolt it’s just a EVO on Verizon nothing more nothing less anyone saying different issues just plain stupid so to say I’m jumping for joy for something that is just as old as the iphone 4 is just dumb. So I’m weighing my options just like everyone else but I will get the IPhone 4 not because of what it can do but because of its resale value you probably won’t even get 200 for the thunderbolt six months from now when you’re sitting there in envy of those people getting the Bionic or maybe the iPhone 5 if it comes to Verizon then but those who brought the iPhone now probably will be able to pay for their new phone and possibly have something left over after selling their phone. Hate on the iPhone all you want but its resale value is unmatched by any other phone.

So happy to see 58% of people aren’t sucked into iphone hype. There IS a god.

Nah, I am loving my iPhone. I am not falling for the Verizon hype.

I voted “No Way”, mainly because I’ve waited soooooooooo long for a decent phone on Big Red that I might as well wait a couple of more weeks for the HTC Thunderbolt so that I can ditch this crappy Droid X. I can’t believe there are people who actually like this phone; this is not the true Android experience! Besides, why would I buy a phone with a 0.3MP Front Facing Camera when I can have a 1.3MP FFC on the Thunderbolt. Not to mention, an 8MP rear main camera; all with a 4.3 screen; stereo surround speakers; interchangeable storage; the freedom of no iTunes and not having to rename songs or videos just to play them on the damn phone; etc. And, for those crying about OS updates, bear in mind, Apple usually has one major update per year and it usually coincides with the release and marketing campaign of their next generation iPhone. Or, when they are desparately trying to undo the ardous work of Jailbreakers.

Most people who will get the iPhone aren’t BGR readers, I think the non-techies will flock to buying these.

    For sure…in 13.5 hours!

Why buy an iPhone 4 when I can get a LTE phone with a larger screen?

An iphone is like a “Sony’s My first Walkman.” Has the functions of a smart phone, but could never be considered one.

When my contract runs out I will change over. AT&T has been a nightmare. There’s a tower in sight of my house yet I am lucky to get 2 bars. Besides, I wouldn’t sign a new 2-year contract with Verizon or AT&T with iphone 5 so close. I probably will wait until iphone 6. I’m not paying an ETF and for a new iphone. I can endure AT&T a while longer.

I’m strongly considering it. My company pays for my Verizon account and right now I’ve got a DX, but my personal line is an AT&T iPhone 4 which I’ve loved since I got it. Android is cool, and kind of intriguing, but iOS is so much…sexier. Every time I use my Droid X it strikes me how strange it is to use the hard keys at the bottom of the phone when its screen is so huge. The idea of having an iPhone for business and one for personal use is maybe a bit overboard though.

Buying an iPhone on any network is a poor decision. Hold out for four months and get yourself an iPhone 5. That’s what I’m doing.

The same people that are downing on the iPhone are also those who think PCs and Windows are superior to Macs and OS X… iOS is solid and the same across all iPhones which ensures that updates/upgrades come to all… I’ve been using a Samsung Fascinate since October and am still waiting for for Android’s 2.2 update that was supposed to be delivered late last year. Android is buggy, unstable and clumsy. Maybe one day it will be on par with the refined stability of iPhone but for now, even a late model iPhone is a step above your current Android devices. And don’t get me started on all those toylike Android Tablets trying to keep pace with the iPad. Come on Android butt boys… you all are just in denial!

Iphone is just so 2009 , Android is where its at !!! I LOVE MY DROID

    • http://twitter.com/starnovsky Stan Tarnovsky

2007 to be exact. Didn’t change much since when.

  • Bringit

    yup.

  • Hello

Why would anyone buy a CDMA device in 2011? Your device won’t work in most of the world and you don’t have data service while you’re on a phone call.

    • http://twitter.com/starnovsky Stan Tarnovsky

But it will work pretty much anywhere in US and will work 100% of all times. That’s all what really matters.
I’m still not getting iPhone though but for the other reasons.

    • Bringit

Because I do not travel the world like James Bond.

They should have done this years ago, and they would have had me. Now I’ve discovered the joys of Android, and can’t look back. Too little, too late, Apple.
