Amazon prices Motorola DROID BIONIC at $149.99, too

It looks like Amazon plans to be aggressive when pricing several upcoming handsets that will combine to form a new wave of next-generation Android phones. Last week, we reported that the Motorola ATRIX 4G and the Samsung Infuse 4G, both due to launch soon from AT&T, would be available for $149.99 from the popular online discount retail right out of the gate. Today, enthusiast blog Droid Life reports that Amazon will be offering the same pricing on Verizon Wireless’ upcoming next-generation smartphone, the Motorola DROID BIONIC. A screen shot of the DROID BIONIC’s product page shows the $149.99 contract price alongside a $599.99 full retail price. They page has since been pulled from Amazon’s website, but expect it to show up again soon.

This means several things. 1.) 4G data plans will either be much higher priced or offer much less in total data. 2.) They need a cheeper price up front to compete with the iphone even though you still pay out the ass for 2 years with either phone. 3.) Amazon always sells vontract phones much cheaper because of their special ETFs 4.) Motorola is admiring finally that their products are cheap 5.) The most likely scenario: Motorola already has the Droid Bionic 2 5G 3D waiting to be released 2 months later with a newer version of android. Followed by the DROID Bionic 3DS 6G.

I like 5 the most. Lol… coming from an og droid owner seems pretty plausible since they did that with the og droid & droid X…

The most likely scenario is just that it’s Amazon doing what they always do and selling it $100 cheaper.
The feeble attempt at humor did not go unnoticed though. 5G, hilarious stuff.

True. By their standards, T-Mobile will most likely be the first to 5G when they finally roll out LTE.

I don’t know if 3.5 stars is enough social proof for me to buy it

I’m pretty sure verizon is gonna screw us on the data plan REGARDLESS of the cost of the phone.
