Images of second unnamed HTC smartphone emerge

mobile

Following earlier reports revealing an unannounced buttonless HTC smartphone due to be launched by Verizon Wireless, images of a second unnamed Android phone have been published. This new smartphone appears to be more in tune with HTC’s current higher-end models, suggesting that it may launch as a flagship device. The device was spied on a commuter train in Taipei and details are extremely scarce. The smartphone runs Android, as evidenced by the four touch-sensitive buttons beneath the display and the visible on-screen menu bar, and it appears to have a front-facing camera for video chat. Beyond that, the phone is a mystery. Hit the jump for two more images of the unnamed handset.

Looks like the Samsung Focus with 4 buttons

Looks like an updated Sense on Android 2.3. :)
Also, it looks like in the bottom four touch-sensitive buttons, the menu button is an image of a menu as opposed to it just saying ‘menu’. It was conflicting – glad they changed that.

One of my pet peeves as well.

Doesn’t it show the menu icon on the nexus 1.

Perhaps it only says “menu” on sense devices, which this is clearly running.

Sure looks like 2.3 Thunderbolt to me.

Edit: why dont we have anti-smudge coating on the displays yet on android?

HTC doesn’t even use gorilla glass, I think they assume everyone will just use a screen protector.
Also don’t those oleophobic coatings wear off real quick anyway?

The coming HTC Sensation has Gorilla Glass.

It looks exactly like the Nexus One, subtract the trackball and lower the tactile buttons. Awesome. I hope T-Mobile gets something awesome, I want some 21mbps on Sense for Android that hasn’t been violated by the carrier.

Motorola makes a “sturdier” phone, but with the locked boot-loader bull, I am moving to an HTC phone. My Droid 1 has reached EOL with me.. It was the easiest phone to root and run custom roms.. I will miss the little fella..

CAN ANYONE suggest the highest end, HTC, Android phone on Verizon I can buy within the next 2 months, or
    should I wait until spring??
