Sprint’s latest 4G phone just $89.99 from Amazon

mobile

Sprint released its latest 4G phone earlier this month and the launch price of $149.99 seemed surprisingly reasonable for a well-spec’d 4G smartphone with all the trimmings. As reasonable as that might be, the second smartphone in Sprint’s EVO line is now available from AmazonWireless for just $89.99 with a new two-year contract. The HTC EVO Shift 4G features a 3.6-inch 800 x 480-pixel touchscreen display, an 800MHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture support, mobile hotspot capabilities and 4G WiMAX connectivity, as its moniker might indicate. It runs Android 2.2 Froyo and all in all, it’s definitely a solid option for Sprint subscribers seeking out a new smartphone. Then again, with Mobile World Congress less than a month away, it might be wise to hold off and see what new goodies Sprint has in store.

      Why wouldn’t it be?…

Same size battery as EVO, smaller screen, clocked down processor… If that doesn’t equal better battery life then I’m Steve Jobs

Maybe they’ll finally have an EPIC alternative with a Front Camera…..

    Epic 4G or Evo Shift 4G ?????

WHERE ARE THE DUAL CORE ANDROIDS WITH SLIDE OUT KEYBOARDS LIKE THIS ??????

I had the evo and sold it for the Epic. Word of advice: Don’t ever buy a samsung cell phone. The epic has serious problems and is seriously left in the dust next to any htc product. My particular epic has a battery life of about 6 hrs, thats if I only make a call or two, no surfing or anything else. The keyboard constantly drops random keystrokes – which I think their driver for the keyboard is flawed and drops keys when it cant process it at that exact moment of a key press (scheduling). Google Epic 4g Keyboard problem. I’m waiting for a class action.

I’d suggest holding out entirely since most of the people on Sprint now have to wait longer for upgrades. This phone isn’t going to cut it especially with the Sense UI bloating it up.

Until you have one in your hands, please refrain from posting what you don’t know. The Shift is just as snappy as the EVO and Epic – even with Sense UI “bloating it up”.

I’ve played with this phone. It doesn’t matter what performance is like now. With new updates to Android that can all change. The Hero was OK on 1.5 but 2.1 is a mess, laggy all over the place thanks to Sense. Sense is the most bloated Android overlay there could ever be.

This phone is too little for too much. Wait for something with a dual core or a better single core.. Sprint will get around to releasing something powerful I’m sure.

Maybe it was just the device you played with…

And sense isnt that bad, its actually the best ui overlay of them all.

man sprint always has the ugliest POS phones. Even though this is HTC, it LOOKS like something Motorola crapped out their @$$ after a drunken bachelor party. FAIL

    Where’s the review?

The shift IS NOT LIKE THE EVO! it doesnt not have a front facing camera so why compare the device to the evo if it doesnt have the same use
