T-Mobile G2 is free through January 20th

The Consumer Electronics Show was packed to the brim this year with forthcoming Android phones and tablets, but truth be told, T-Mobile didn’t have much to offer in the way of beastly new smartphones to look forward to. Now, it’s entirely possible that the scrappy carrier is saving most of its goodies for Mobile World Congress next month, but some of you may be in need of a new smartphone and can’t wait a month or more to get it. You’re in luck — from now through Thursday, January 20th, T-Mobile is offering its latest Google-powered QWERTY slider for the low, low price of free-fifty. All you have to do is sign on the dotted line and prepare to sit on the sidelines for the next 24 months while new Android smartphones continue to launch and best each other on a near-monthly basis.

And yet another bogus reason why android is “growing” in market share.

How is it any more bogus than Blackberries being given away Buy One Get One? Or ATT’s BOGO on Windows Phone 7 deal? Or Wirefly/etc who give phones away basically?

The carriers/distributers choose the pricing. The only device you never see deeply discounted is iphones.

Largest 4G my ass, there isnt even a TRUE 4g network out. they should all get sued.

Tmobile, build me some 3g towers and ‘ll buy your phones, otherwise you literally can’t compete with some of AT&T and Verizon’s smart phone business because YOU AREN’T THERE.

  • iOS<Android

It ain’t even 4G lmao.. This phone is horrible. No wonder why its free.. You never see the iPhone 4 or Evo 4G for free? Stupid move Google.

Yeah… stupid move google.. except google doesn’t decide the pricing on the G2, they can decide the pricing on the Nexus S and Nexus One but how can they control the pricing of a Tmobile Device? T Mobile can offer lower prices on their android phones because they’re constantly getting new android devices. How many Android devices does Sprint have? Yeah exactly. Why would ATT or apple lower the price on their iphones? How many other iOS running devices out there can make calls over a GSMnetwork? Yeah
