RIM opens registration for BlackBerry World 2011

mobile

Research In Motion just hit us up to let us know that registration has officially opened for BlackBerry World 2011. Ah, but what is BlackBerry World 2011, some of you might be asking yourselves? It’s WES renamed — news we broke a couple months back, remember? It’s being held May 3rd to the 5th in sunny Orlando, Florida and will feature over 100 breakout sessions, hands-on labs, BlackBerry training, and of course, live productions demonstrations and announcements. Might we be seeing the BlackBerry Bold Dakota, BlackBerry Curve Apollo, BlackBerry Storm 3 Monaco, or BlackBerry Torch 2 make an appearance? You betcha’!

Even with all the new devices, the hardware still isn’t up to par with current devices. Will we be seeing new devices at BBW2011? Yes. Will they be ground breaking devices? No. They are still stuck in 2006.

I remember this from last year, mostly because it had by far the worst keynote of any conference in the mobile phone industry in 2010.

BGR’s pat on the back “It’s news we broke a couple mounts back.” in reality how we see it “It’s something BGR had to report about and BGR didn’t like it but…… FIRST POST!!!!!!”

Well come on RIM was not stupid when they did this. They knew that people would get a chuckle from it, but as well because of this people will never forget their site name. They have managed to get you to remember something that took almost zero advertising to do! In the advertising world that is unheard of. All word of mouth as people say “did you see what RIMs domain name is for their job site?” Then people type it in to see if its real and they have a look around since they are there. Same as people tell their boss they have an appointment for an MRI (major RIM interview) how many other companies have that? People who don’t like RIM will just say stuff like “That’s dumb” only because if Apple did it first they would be right on the band wagon!

They make great devices, they work. However its like having a trade show for a new flavor of rice cakes, they’re great tasting and low calorie, they don’t require a huge launch party, bag em up and throw them on the shelf, it is what it is.

      ????

I think I get what you are saying? Apple is the only one that people freak about! I’m not sure why they do either! Honesty why do people get so freaked out about a new phone that (I’m not cutting it up) is just as much change as any other phone does from one model to the next. How different is the iPhone from the original? It has not changed much and after 4 models they still look the same just obvious incremental changes. RIM has about 40-50 devices over 10 years all shapes and sizes and form factors… Then there is Android, 75 phones in 2010 wow that’s just over kill how can you keep up to that many phones! I can see actually why Apple people get excited to see the next phone! They only get 1 a year!

Will they launch BlackBerry Balance will allow devices to partition personal and business data and effectively create two phones in one.
