MetroPCS’ Samsung Forte LTE handset rears its head

mobile

Blog Samsung Hub has an image of what its source claims is the Samsung Forte, a full-QWERTY Android set destined for pre-paid wireless carrier MetroPCS. The device purportedly packs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 5 megapixel camera, LTE radio, and will run the Android 2.2 operating system. The handset bears a very strong resemblance to the Samsung SCH- R910 — the same device we exclusively brought to you yesterday. The site’s source claims that Sammy is working on two different Android sets (we’re assuming one full-touchscreen and one not) so we have no way of telling if this is in-fact the same device. Not bad MetroPCS, not bad at all.

What is with this obsession with QWERTY keyboards? My fingers move faster without having to press down on anything.. the Craft which was better left unreleased had a keyboard too. Stop the madness already! More slate phones!

Sorry Pal/Miss, but there are some people type faster with a keyboard. For me I won’t buy a phone without a keyboard.

I’ve used touch screens since the palm pilot days, and having a touch screen only limits the ways you can interface with the phone. For example; for text, multimedia messages I use the virtual Keyboard. For E-mails, Videos, Long text, ongoing texts (back and forth), games, any web based inputs, I use the physical keyboard. (I hate entering any thing in the web browser with the virtual keyboard)

You maybe sick of seeing phones with both inputs ( I don’t have a cure for ya), but for me as long as they keep the phones balanced between the Touch only and the G2 like phones I’m happy.

P.S. I also don’t like the thin phones (the main reason people don’t want a key board) as they’re too light; meaning I’ll lose them easier because I can’t feel the in my pocket, and the fear of sitting on them.

Metro PCS LTE plans are pretty crappy. They say you get access to unlimited You tube, but services like pandora Netflix and skype are not included LMAO, WTF is that??? A better business model will be to charge customers for packets of data and let them use it as they wish. Metro shot itself in the foot with this one. Tmobile has the best model I believe, $10 per gig and if you don’t use any data you don’t pay.

LOL. Metro PCS. …… LOL LOL LOL. oh where to begin…… please go away, metro pcs. You are an embarassment to yourself and the mobile industry. You are actually even worse than U.S> Cellular( if thats even possible). glorified tracfone providers. both of you. please sell out to a real wireless carrier SOON.

For the time being, yes Metro is worse than US cellular. But US Cellular were ranked #1 in Consumer Reports even though they are not one of the big 4 carriers. I’m impressed with them. They even have a Galaxy S phone (Mesmerize already in their lineup).
