‘Coverage?’ app equips you for an iPhone-fueled resurgence of the AT&T vs. Verizon coverage war

General

Are you currently deciding whether you should get a new iPhone 4 from AT&T or wait a few weeks for the imminent Verizon iPhone launch? Do you need help determining which carrier provides the best cellular coverage in your most treaded areas? Do you just want extra fodder for the perpetual and infinitely ridiculous “my network is better than your network” argument that takes place on countless forums and blogs? Say hello to Coverage?, a new iOS app from Technomadia. The function of this great little app is quite simple; it allows users to quickly and easily view coverage maps for each of the four major U.S. carriers. Focus can be narrowed by carrier to 3G, 2G or roaming service, and multiple carriers can be viewed on the same map using simple toggle switches. The app uses Google Maps so it supports zooming and multitouch, and it really is quite useful for travelers and those who live in areas with fringe coverage. Coverage? costs $1.99 and is currently available in the App Store for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Hit the break for a video demo.

lol this is to funny… i will not believe that Verizon is going get the IPhone until the day Verizon comes out and states they are getting it. Wall Street Journal is nothing more then a glorified news magazine that likes to spread rumors. I am not stating that Verizon is not getting the IPhone, but more of stating dont believe it until it comes from the horses mouth. Also if Verizon was going to carry the IPhone this year, dont you think they would have announced it at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show where they have announced all of their other products.

haha who developed this app? consumer report? apparently at&t has got the worst 3G coverage than T-Mobile and Sprint…interesting…there’s really no 3G need unless you are streaming porn online. why is it rated “most useful app”? i thought that kind of stuff is what GOOGLE is there for….
    $1.99?
    WHAT A JOKE

Well seeing as how at&ts coverage is way off in the apps I can see this company getting sued into bankruptcy.

I had to go here, but if you need an app to show coverage, you blew it!

I wish this app would come out for Android. This way I could also participate in not buying it.

Try Sensorly Map Viewer. It’s free.

The app for ATT is missing a ton of places in SC where I have 3G coverage. I travel the Palmetto State constantly for work and 3G isn’t perfect but it is much, much better than the map shows. Are you sure this app wasn’t made by Verizon?

Who ever post these AT&T coverage results are full of SHIT I’ve been with AT&T almost three years never had a dropped call nor lost of 3G and on that note….that 4g other carriers so carelessly brag about ? BULLSHIT I was playing with my friends evo and it’s not even that fast compared to my old 3G iPhone I wish these carriers just stop lying and give it up !

They may have more 3G coverage for verizon, but here is the thing for most iPhone users. On the AT&T network you can multi task like be on the phone talking while playing a game on the internet or surfing the web. With the Verizon iPhone you will not be able to unless you are on Wi Fi.

It’s all BS. Look at ATTs coverage for Montana- where you are on ROAMING 100% of the time.
