DROID does… stop bullets; HTC DROID Incredible saves man’s life [video]

mobile

An Associate Press video posted on YouTube demonstrates another reason why HTC’s DROID Incredible is, well… incredible. John Garber was exiting Club Halo in Atlanta, were he works as a valet, when he suddenly became caught in a hail of gunfire. Two patrons who had been thrown out of the establishment got into an argument outside the club that ultimately lead to a short shoot-out. Mr. Garber was struck in the chest by a bullet, which penetrated his coat and was ultimately stopped by the battery of his HTC DROID Incredible. The above image is a chilling reminder of how lucky Mr. Garber is. Hit the jump to check out the video, complete with the owner’s first-hand account. DROID does… stop bullets.

UPDATE: While it was unclear from the original AP video/report which mobile device Mr Garber was using — we assumed the DROID Incredible because of the battery color, size — it has been made clear by subsequent, local news reports that the device in question was actually the HTC EVO 4G from Sprint. We apologize for the misinformation.

Shut up!! YoU guys don’t know what your talkin about. He only survived because it barely it the battery. There is no indication of the caliber or ballistics. Now if this gun was let’s say a desert eagle it would have tore through that battery like tisse paper.

By what information do some of you insist it was an EVO? There’s absolutely nothing in the video that would give you that information. All you see is the Battery, and both the Incredible and the EVO have identical looking batteries.

Not a Droid. HTC doesn’t make the Droid Incredible.

That was an HTC Evo. I guess fact checking is something this site fails miserably at.

You need to check your facts because HTC does, in fact, make the Droid Incredible.
